From Africa, as a Senior Couple serving on this continent, interacting with the young men and young woman serving here with the loving, the wonderful, humble people we send to you our love. May the knowledge of his self-less service be a comfort for you all. He is truly a giant. Our love to you from Africa.
There will be those who post here who will wonder and never understand and who may even be critical, but those of us who share this family's heart pray the Lord will comfort and sustain and send strength to all who knew this Elder.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wayman and Turnbow families. We pray that they will have the comfort and peace they need - realizing that their sons have touched so many lives for the better. God bless!
My heart feels so tender towards the family and friends of this young man. I hope that you will feel the comfort and joy in his love and sacrifice. This young man not only was sacrificing his time to serve a mission, but he sacrificed his life to prevent harming or taking the life of another. His act was a act of courage and unselfishness, what an honor it is for his parents to have him as their son.
In this day and age for a young person to sacrifice his time and energy to help others, is a wonderful thing. To lose your life in that process is, as Christ said to gain your life. God bless you.
"It may not be on the mountain top ... "
Our Father in Heaven has much important work to do. He needs valiant servants who will perform the work on the other side of the veil. Now He calls one of those - most valiant and well prepared - to serve with Him.
May the Truth comfort the families and friends of Elder Chad Steven Wayman.
I've known chad since we were in 7th grade. Our group of friends hung out almost everyday in high school. Chad was the type of person everyone loved having around. He was always so up beat and nice to everyone around him. You couldn't ask for a better friend. He will truly be missed and I know he'll make a strong missionary on the other side.
my thoughts and prayers go out to this young mans family and friends ant this time. What a comfort the Gospel is and to know he was in the service of our Father when he was called home, and he is again doing his work on the other side.
"Greater love hath no man than this...that he lay down his life for his friends".
This young man lost his life in an attempt to spare the life of a stranger.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family of this wonderful young Elder. He gave his life in the service of his fellow man, fulfilling the two greatest commandments... to love God and they neighbor. He is still doing the work of his Father.
My thoughts are with the family and friends of this amazing young man.
My prayer of comfort goes out to his wonderful family and friends. I can,t think of a better way to go. Than be serving your Heavenly Father at the time.
Our prayers are with this wonderful family who lost a choice son. A son that was greatly loved and cherished. May the spirit comfort you at this time.
My thoughts and prayers go out to this wonderful young man's family. My husband and I have just recently returned from serving as senior missionary's in Africa and we have shared so many wonderful moments with these marvelous young men who choose to serve the Lord. We have told them many times that when we grow up we want to be just like them, we are convinced that the Lord only sends the most valiant young people to serve in Africa as it does present so many hardships. While we were serving we lost our wonderful Mission President to an auto accident as well therefor our hearts and prayers are once again for a most valiant of all young people and his family. May the Lord bless you always and know that your son is indeed in the service of the Lord beyond the veil. He will be missed by many and loved forever.
i offer my love and a prayer of peace and comfort for all who are remembering this young man.
he is with his father now, and what a comfort it is to all who knew him that they will see him again.
celebrate his life and all of the great things he did for his friends, family, ward, church, Lord, and that stranger he saved from the taste of death.
he was a great guy.
Thank you for your self less sacrifice and may the Lord bless your dear family
May his family feel the Savior's love and be reminded of the eternal nature of the soul.
These young men and women serving missions (and couple too) once they leave home belong to all of us in the church. I didn't know this young man personally, but reading of his accident still bought tears to my eyes and a prayer to my heart for his family. Reading the above comments, I know others feel that way too. God be with you and give you comfort in this time of sorrow. Thank you for the inspiration and selfless service of your son in South Africa during the time he was able to serve.
All positive and meaningful comments and wishes. We also send our thoughts and prayers to the families. It's a tragedy but what a positive way to leave this earth when doing something he loved and others loved him. May the Lord's choicest blessings be with those families and friends.
I am so sorry to this family. It is such a sacrifice to send a young man across the world and when you send them on a mission you just dont expect this to happen. Our prayers and well wishes are with you at this time.
My heart truly goes out to you this day. I pray the Dear Lord will bless you. You will always have such a wonderful memory of what your elder did for another. Know that he his happy in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ.
