What is right about Romney is generally what is wrong with the pack of wantabees for president. No one else seems to have the combination of a sense of family, of community, of morality, of business and prior experience in government. It is unfortunate that none of the candidates, not even Romney, can fulfill all of the promises made during the campaign. The best we can hope for , if they are truly honest, is some insight into their core beliefs, how they might react to the pressures of being the leader of the free world and, how they might handle their constitutional role in government. Hopefully we will focus more on common sense in government and not be caught up in the panic there seems to be for change for the sake of change. In that light, Romney might just be one we should consider for the job.

Slick Mitt's race is over. He looked good until he had to show himself in the light where voters could get a good look at him. Maybe some good can come from Mitt's exposure if his brother contemporarys learn from Mitt's errors and stop playing shell games with the public and start being open and honest in their lives and believes.

There is just something wrong with a guy that has a tan in January.

All joking aside, my problem with Romney is that he said drastically different things to be elected in Massachusetts than he is saying now.

*Animals are just as important as people*

Why is this listed as a negative thing?

If someone gets a cheap thrill out of abusing/torturing innocent animals, they should be punished because that's just a dispicable way to behave.

Even if you are someone who chooses not to care about animals, you should still be very concerned about a person who hurts animals, because who's to say that he/she won't decide to make a human being their next victim?

Anyone basing their electoral decision strictly on faith is missing the point; let's not.

Of course, confidence is a big factor, and I for one posit that in the following order:

1. Romney
2. McCain
3. Huckabee
4. Thompson
5. Giuliani

Of course, actual issues and plans is another thing, and Mitt wins that ball game hands down.

He has my vote. I am military, too.

A man(woman) will run the presidency in the same manner he/she has run their own life. Look at the background of the candidates, not the religion, and decide who has been the most successful--in business, family, leadership, integrity--and the choice is clear!

I can't predict at this point if Mitt Romney will win the Presidency..but I know he SHOULD win. And I'm basing that on my head, not just my heart. And, yes, of course, Mitt, as a Mormon, is big news and covered in Utah. Your point?

You people are as bad as a pack of dogs , you turn on your own like rabid animals just to get your way , You talk about freedom of religion and all that is soooooo wonderful in america blah blah blah , you are the most bigoted, arrogant, people i have ever had the displeasure of meeting, go ahead ,vote for president along such idiot lines as religion, like previously stated, we stand as vultures waiting to capitalize on your stupidity, please vote for , huckleberry , or the others, it will show that you are no where near being a world leader, or as you like to put it "the world's policeman" what a joke, You are the laughing stock of the world, no one likes you , nor will they untill you practice what you preach !

I firmly believe that we desperately need Mitt Romney as our next president. I am certainly not in the Wasatch Front, here, nor have I ever been. I have watched our beautiful area turn from good conservative values to the radical far left, and seen the great damage it has wreaked on us all. We need the clear thinking, concern for the best good of all the country that Romney would bring- he's certainly not after the presidency for financial gain! He's giving it away for the opportunity to serve. God bless him and his campaign. You don't have to be Mormon to appreciate what he's done for the State of Massachusetts, the Olympics (while the world watched), or how he conducts his personal/family life. I am glad to see an honorable man willing to subject himself to scorn and degradation to help us fools. It's time we pull together as a nation and strive for our former greatness. In the spirit of Martin Luther King, it's time we set aside our differences and treat each other with respect. God bless America.

If we vote the man and not the rhetoric or the religion, Mitt Romney is still the one!

This is the toughest election I am about to vote in.
Mit is the only true Republican in the running. But bacause of the terrorist threats, I am leaning towards McCain because of his experience as a warrior. In my heart I want Mit Romney to be president. He believes what I believe. Maybe the war will not be an issue by November. Things are quieting down. I pray that Iran leaves us alone and gives us peace for a while....Then there would be no question...Mit Romney ....

Time for me to weigh in.

Phyllis: I believe Mitt is the man and I believe he is better qualified than McCain. Though I value what McCain did for the nation as a warrior, I feel we need to enhance some economic things and I know MR can do that.

I also think if you listen to MR you will find he has no tolerance for the terrorists and really wants to protect America...

Business wise, he is brilliant. He has turned around more than one fledgling company and the Olympics... I think we need him... He has values and vision... he has my vote as you can see

His website is highly informative about him... it is just his name...

montanamom... how sad it is that extremists have changed your lovely area... must be heartbreaking... I am sorry.

north of the border: You neither think nor write coherently....

As usual, Utahns can't see past the nose on their face, or the religion they are ruled by.

Mitt Romney's only asset is the fact that he has money to burn... oh, and he got Utah the Olympics... fine qualifications for President, right?

He will be long gone before the first flowers of spring bloom. :)

Mitt Romney strongly supports the executive privilege/power changes that have taken place during the Bush Administration. He wants to preserve 'Gitmo' and torturing. His viewpoint is very authoritarian - so if he is elected, we might 'enjoy' less freedoms than we have now. Give me liberty or give me death' was what Patrick Henry said. What do we say now? Give me a leader to cower behind?

Actually, Anonymous, Mitt wants to protect your silly self... I have no problem with that...
