The first quarter was scary, actually. We were all thinking, "Uh oh, these guys are going to get run off the floor without Morris Almond," then their defense created a string of easy scores, confidence soared, and the next thing you know, the Flash were in control.

The NBA is bad enough - do we really need to report on the NBDL?

The NBA is a bunch of overpaid guys who take over the game in an attempt to pad their own stats at the expense of their team.

The NBDL is a bunch of not-quite-so-overpaid-but-still-overpaid-nevertheless guys who WANT to take over the game in an attempt to pad their own stats at the expense of their team, but aren't good enough to do it.

Give me college basketball - the highest level in America where the game is still played the way it was meant to be played. The Utah Flash-in-the-Pan need to go away.

Some us like to read reports about the NBDL. Have you attended a game yet? If not, perhaps you should do so. What you will witness are players who play hard, hustle, and are fan friendly. They are trying to earn a living, and they do it with class. Oh, by the way, they even seem to be having fun playing the game. Check it out Yikes, maybe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Overpaid? The players of the NBDL are divided into three levels of ability. The "A" players get $4000 a month, "B" players receive $3000 and "C" players get $2000. The college game has become all about the "overpaid" coaches and their rampant egos. The main difference between the pros and college is that the players are paid over the table in the pros instead of under the table.

I always laugh when I hear people say college sports are better than the pro's. I can appreciate the fact that some people enjoy watching college basketball but to say that it is better basketball than the NBA, or D-NBA for that matter, is ridiculous. The talent level is not even close.

Either YIKES love to rock the boat and get everyone riled up, or else he is embarrassingly clueless about basketball.

TIM is right in that the talent in college basketball isn't at all at the level of the NBA or NBADL. For instance, it is not likely that ANY of the current college players in Utah will make NBA teams next year, whereas Gabe Pruitt, Morris Almond and Kyrylo Fesenko have already been called up, and it wouldn't surprise me if Kevin Kruger and Brian Jackson got called up.

YIKES, I hear what you are saying about money spoiling NBA players, but if think there isn't big money affecting college basketball, you need to wake up and smell the logos.

College student athletes are notoriously more athletes than students, and are pampered through classes, and given privileges the real students don't get.

And college crowds are so partisan they cannot see much less accept gametime reality, and commonly heap abuse on refs making a right call just because it's against their team.

And don't get me started on the joke of a 3-point line in college basketball, and the tortuously long shot clock. Zzzz.

NBADL basketball is purist.

Tim- You are exactly right. You could take a team of players that the Jazz cut and be a top 5 NCAA basketball team. Every player the Jazz bring in for camp was a first team all-conference player in his respective conference. These are division 1 basketball conferences. This year's timberwolves or knicks would beat any college team by over 40 points.

Hey, for those of you who aren't interested in the NBDL, why are you here? You complain, "The NBA is bad enough - do we really need to report on the NBDL?" But no one is holding a gun to your head. If you find it so bothersome then please don't read here. Meanwhile, let those who do enjoy it do what THEY want, which is to read about it and talk about it.
