The legal system

That's just not the way our legal system works (vicarious punishment).

When you are convicted of a gun sales violation, you are punished for that crime, not the crime commited by another person you had no control of. It would set a bad presidence to assume Hunter should have read Talovec's mind and known that 8 months later he would use the gun to kill their daughter and therefore punish Hunter for Talovec's crime.

Think about it... If he hadn't bought this gun from Hunter, Talovic would have just used another one (he used several). This wasn't the only gun he used in the attack. Just because the bullet came from the gun he got from Hunter doesn't make Hunter responsible for Talovic's act. Talovic is the one who decided to abuse the weapon. Punishing Hunter for Talovic's decision isn't justice, it's vengence.

I guess if you would all read the news Utah law says if you sell a gun to a minor and get caught you are looking at 15months and in this case Hunter the seller was caught with drugs and not allowed to even touch a gun so Utah law tacks on another 10 years and that is irrelevent to the Antrobus family from what i read they wanted to give a statement on how this affected there family anyway toss there wish to give a statement out under Utah law and Hunters drug charge the judge could have give him 11.5 years the confession when he was caught and he told law enforcement he new the gun was going to be used in a violent crime such as a bank robbery is what upset the Antrovus family and i do not blame them Hunter will get out of jail in August he gave a thumbs up to his family so he knows he got off easy thumbs up in court when he heard the sentence a real punk but i think the prison system will straighten him out for his release he may be a little sore thou
