McCain All the way baby!

The pet problem question

....cost him at least one vote.

Mitt may have thought he was funny, but the woman who got the snide answer from him, decided that she would NOT support Mitt.

What hubris.

Plus, the more I hear him, the more I'm irritated by his strange speech patterns and voice that's almost screechy.

Where are the Democrats?

Reporters Notebook is one more example of the bias of Deseret Morning News editor Joe Cannon, former chairman of the Utah Republican Party. Since Cannon became editor last year, his staff has written and published on Page 1 73 stories that focused exclusively on Romney's presidential bid. Republican contenders mostly provide context. Democrats are mostly relegated to wire reports published inside the paper.

Cannon would probably attempt to justify his news blackout of other candidates by labeling Romney a "hometown boy" deserving of special consideration. After all, he shares the faith of many Utahns, has a plush vacation home at a posh Utah ski resort, and temporarily lived here a few years ago while he and others managed the Olympics.

But the Republican editor does a disservice to Utahns who believe that solid journalism and information voters need to make a responsible decision at the ballot box require coverage of more than one political perspective.

However much Cannon believes Utahns love Mitt, "hometown boy" is not a designation that will appear on ballots in the coming months - assuming Romney survives the next few primaries. Each name will have the same status.

Were you at the event? From the article it appeared that Mitt simply stated he didn't know much about the (non)issue, and then the woman answered her own question.
It's too bad that you seem to base your vote on a candidate's looks, rather than his (or her) stance on issues.

to Bill Keshlear: did you expect anything less when the publication named the former chair of the Republican party. to edit the "news"? I pointed this out to a freind after the Iowa caucuses. It's the major reason i will not purchase the DMN.

Me

To davidutefan: you won't buy the paper but you will definatly take time to read it. Makes sense to me.

I should imagine that, should Mitt (the M in DMN) not carry the day, that new hampshire shall then be considered, like Iowa, far less important in the primaries than, say, Wyoming.

Why don't you speak to the Tribune Editorial Board about the disservice to Utah Republicans for lack of solid, fair and balanced journalism? My heart bleeds for those poor Democrats who are relegated to wire reports published inside the Deseret Morning News. I often receive telephone calls from the Tribune offering me free delivery for several weeks. I tell the caller that the Tribune has moved so far to the left and is so unfair and unbalanced in its reporting that I would not have it in my home or take it to the outhouse with me, either to read or otherwise use.

The varyious reactions and comments people make at election time always fascinate me. I never knew that the over population of animals was a problem, but it is certainly interesting to listen to what people have to say about it now that the issue has come up.

You almost need a Ph.D. in psychology to understand the way people think and just what will get them to vote for you because it is obviously not their capabilities in politics. I ought to start collecting all of the ridiculously funny comments and put them in a scrap book to send to Mitt when he is elected president.

Mark

Cory C.,

Do you honestly believe Mitt can win in states dominated by Evangelicals? Can any Republican win without a massive turnout of Evangelical Christians?

I think we all ought to let the DMN and Utah's Republicans gush over Mitt. It isn't going to last that long.

Karl

im not voting for mitt. I do however pay attention closely to politics. I smell consistency in the air. the clincher will be the next state, is it south carolina? no one has consistently won a state twice on either side, it is still very early. but i will say this, mitt has pulled in the silver medal twice already on the gop side, no one else has on the gop side. and he has won wyoming already, which gives him some early consistency in the long race down the road. if mccain and huckabee go back and forth like they have, romney will keep getting second, in the gop, which might give him some leverage later on like it or not. But hey its still to early, thats just my early opinion on the matter, it means nothing, just something to think about.

Ouch Mitt

Mitt you continue to dissappoint, can you believe McCain credits his win to telling the truth. Mitt I thought you should be the one that gets an honest reputation.

Democrates for John McCain

Of course the Democrates want John McCain, they know in the end he can't win!.

The Real Winner

Todays Quiz Kiddies

Who has more total votes?

A) The man who took second in Iowa and a strong Second in New Hampshire, and first in Wyoming.

B) The man who took first in Iowa then dissappeared in Wyoming, and dissappeared again in New Hampshire

C) The man who was a non factor in Iowa, then a non factor in Wyoming, then "won" New Hampshire

The moral of the story, this is a long way from over and Mitt has currently done better than any other candidate.
