About James Stowe | 10:50 p.m. Jan. 7, 2008
To those trashing the man...cut him some slack. So he typed in caps. Big deal. So he suggested perhaps Romney shouldn't be campaigning on Sunday. Who knows, maybe he's right. I've been told that when the Saints got to the Salt Lake valley, it was a Saturday and "faithful" Latter-day Saints suggested to Brigham Young that they start plowing the very next day, on the Sabbath. Now THEY had a problem; they were a good 3 months behind in planting crops and w/o food for the winter, they'd die. But Brigham counseled them not to, saying that the Lord wouldn't let them starve. I don't think James is trying to pick a fight and I don't think he's being rigid. Seems to me like he's just sticking up for his beliefs and I admire him for doing so. Who knows, if Romney didn't campaign on the Sabbath, maybe that alone would win the respect and trust of our non-LDS Christian neighbors....
I suspect Romney feels like he's doing "the Lord's work" on Sunday's, as he tries to give what he believes would be a good leader for a land blessed above all other lands. Valid points on both sides.
RE: Vietnam Vet | 2:31 a.m. Jan. 8, 2008
From OIF & current OEF Vet:

You make a good point, "John McCain is the choice of many veterans." However, McCain is a loose cannon. Romney, sir, did not become a missionary with the purpose of dodging military service. With that said, you are correct to point out that there is one and only one similarity between Mitt Romney & Bill Clinton, neither served in the military during the Vietnam war. Mitt Romney was doing something admirable with his life during the time that he and Bill clinton were not in the service of our country. What was Bill clinton doing? To suggest that Mitt Romneys sons have a miltary obligation just because we are at war and their father is a Presidential candidate is unfair, narrow minded and inapropriate. During the recent republican presidential debate why did McCain continue with the personnal attacks and shy away from the issues that Romney was trying to bring up?
Romney all the way | 2:35 a.m. Jan. 8, 2008
I love Romney. Everything he says is right. Everything he touches is gold. Everything he does is perfect. He does no wrong. His ads are the truth. His responses are Reaganesque. He stays above the fray. He didn't change his mind. He clarified his views. Which are the right views I might add. He's just plain amazing. Did I say he is perfect?

By the way, I'm a white male Mormon from Utah so I have a very objective view of this whole election and can make up my own mind.

Mitt is about as fake as they come, he is not connecting to the ordinary people. When was the last time he took a commercial flight? ANYONE BUT MITT.

Why is Mitt criticized for flying Jet blue if it is not a commercial flight?

If Clinton is "slick Willy" then Romney is "Slippery Mitt."

For all of you touting "Free Agency" please consult your bibles. No where in the bible does it say FREE Agency. It states God gave man his AGENCY, a gift, it was free from God. It was given to CHOOSE good from evil, not KNOW good from evil. When you choose evil it is no longer FREE and you are in God's debt. Think about it, most of you haven't. As for the candidates, both Democratic and Republican. "By their works you shall know them" If they are good or if they are not.

This much I know about Romney's "works" Rapunzel:
He clearly stated he saw his father marching next to Martin Luther King, he later admitted this never happened.
"By their works you shall know the"
Romney's works are his lies and flip-flopping
I predict that | 1:21 p.m. Jan. 10, 2008
when Romney becomes president a lot of conservatives, including Utah conservatives will be very disappointed at how liberally he governs.

Hello reader. You're there, you know who you are and you have an opinion. You know you're right. Writing to these posts though really does do something for the ego I must say. Ego aside, however, Hillary, Obama, McCain, Guiliani, Huckabee, Romney and the so forth and the like. There was a time in this country when there was a greater respect across the board. I personally think we were attacked by terrorists largely because as a whole our country represents very little that is sacred to the outside world. Our movies that we put out. Our culture. The outside struggling cultures of the world see this nation that celebrates anything but the things that are sacred - and we're a bunch of fat loaded, rat racing, greed mongrols whose political spectrum becomes more polar cold. Knowing what I do about Jesus Christ (with the limited knowledge I do have), I would think that we'd all have a lot that we all need to change (that includes McCain). We all need to be better. We yet have some problems that will not go away by themselves, terrorism being one, national debt another. I'm for Romney.
