So...................
Does Wyoming hold any significance in the process?
Is this even a story worth writing, or an opportunity for the Romney campaign to save some face in Utah?
I just don't get what this story has to do with the process!

Who cares.

John:

1. This has nothing to do with saving face. If so, this would be a Romney press release, not an AP news story. I first heard about this through national media outlets, not through the Deseret News.

2. New Hampshire has only a few more residents than Wyoming has. New Hampshire is seen as more significant because of the east coast media bias.

3. New Hampshire will vote for who is fashionable. Wyoming is more down to earth and will vote for who is conservative. Therefore, I see Wyoming as more significant in the Republican nomination process.

Every vote counts regardless of where it comes from. But Wyoming is a joke to lose candidates just so you can be one of the first states to have an very early caucus, they wanted to be noticed when in fact they are being ignored.
Quit blaming everything that doesn't go your way on "THE MEDIA" you insult the electorate of this country who are quite capable of thinking for themselves. I doubt that New Hampshire has anymore snobs that will vote for who is fashionable than does Wyoming.

Caucus doesn't mean much really. The midwest in Iowa will vote one way. SC will vote another way. People and areas are different around the US.

Is Deseret News on Romney's campaign committe payroll?

Grant, I have been thinking just the opposite. Funny thing, eh?

Gary: AP picks up most anything that appears in one of their affiliated newspapers - they just passed along a story from the Spectrum in St George today that is verifiably factually wrong about air service between Cedar City and SLC. So the fact it's from AP is meaningless, because they aren't fact checking anymore. (In fact, that Spectrum story might actually have been a Skywest press release!)

More interesting would be how much Mitt spent per vote in Wyoming. He spent $600 per vote to come in second in Iowa, which suggests to me that maybe he's not the smartest money manager around, despite his past business.

Here is food for thought: McCain and Mitt are saying that the surge has worked, is working...
but the truth of the matter is that the Sunnis have finally sensed that the Shittes are winning (they have a solid majority after all) and have taken to beating up on Al Queda in order to set their house straight first and foremost. It has little to do with us and our "surge." We could proclaim the surge as productive (except for our dead heroic soldiers) in maybe 3 to 5 years. Wait to see what the Sunnis do, wait to see what the Shittes do. Wait America. Quit the short attention span and wait... and watch out for those who just know that the surge worked or is working... time will be the judge and secrets will come open... 3-5 years...

There was no plan going in, and there is no plan now. Wait and see what the Iraqies do. Waiting is so hard for Americans.

Go Mitt! I am glad this was reported.
Just a question? | 2:47 p.m. Jan. 6, 2008
Does Wyoming have any Democratic delegates? Or is the democratic primary on a different date?
Paul Gibbs | 5:20 p.m. Jan. 6, 2008
Wyoming is of little importance, and wee see the Republican party as a whole ganging up on Mitt. Maybe now my fellow Mormons will see that the Republican party does not like us, and see us in a very negtaive light, and will realize that a Mormon's loyalty to the Republican party is sadly misplaced.

I didn't realize there were so many mormons in Wyoming.

Yes, wyoming's democratic primaries are a different day.
And yes, there are a lot of mormons in wyoming, although they are kept at bay a bit politically by nonMos; you can get real beer there.

New Hampshire has only a few more residents than Wyoming? Wyoming has a population of a little over 500,000 and New Hampshire comes in at 1.3 million. Hmm, I know I went to South High School (we were still using slide rulers then), but I think 800,000 is more than a few. As far as Wyoming being more down to earth... is Utah the baseline for that statement??
