If Bush has done so much to protect our country, then why did 911 occur on his watch? Also their is a consensus amoung the intelligence community, even reflected in the reports they produce, that we are less safe from terrorist attacks now than we were before Bush came to office. How do you explain this?

A reminder to all of you Bush Lovers: Just remember what a Great and Glorious Leader W has been when you fill your tank with 3.00 plus gasoline, try to purchase goods with a rapidly declining dollar, make your monthly needs on wages and benefits that have been outsourced to cheap labor, and feel the pride at just how far our Great Nation has slid in Worldwide esteem. But that's just the beginning, wait until you see the mess Bush's successor is going to have to deal with.

Such petty, mean spirited talk from both sides of the issue. Too many to respond to in a reasonable manner. The issue of Bush destroying the constitution is one of the better ones. The issue of the destruction of the constitution started long before Bush became president. It goes back years. President Bush may not be last president this nation will crash and burn like the Roman empire and all the others that have disappeared over the centuries. As for 9-11, someone has a very short memory, the towers were bombed in the 1990's. Clinton did not do much about it. The bombing of the marine barracks in Lebanon in 1980's ended up with not much more done. I could go on with more events that have happened over the centuries. From reading these posts here and other places makes me think that most people in this nation cannot remember things more than a week or two in the past. Both the left and right wing political elements of the population of this nation are both a fault for what is going on. People are too wrapped up in themselves to see the overall picture of is going to happen.

Rocky, relevant? Only in his own mind. Class and dignity are beyond his ken. I don't much like Bush but at least he does a job. Rocky was/will be never more than a wannabe. The only reason we ever elected him was because the alternatives needed a wakeup call. I think we were wrong and wronged.

Thank you Rocky for speaking your mind, for speaking the truth, for wanting to know the truth and for letting us, the minority in Utah, know we're not alone. This is the first time I've felt visible in this state of lockstep, obedient sheep who reliably support the war criminals in Washington and think burning the flag is worse than torture or losing our constitutional rights. If Bush/Cheney have nothing to hide, why worry about an investigation? They resist the light because they have wrongs to hide. When the pioneers came to this part of the country, they intentionally left the United States and the extermination order of Governer Boggs, so the federal government sent troops to control and kill them if they did not comply with the US. Comply they did, and now, it seems a majority of Utahns have no independent minds at all. I guess as long as we're the ones torturing others and taking their rights away and dropping bombs to exterminate them, then we're fine with giving our rights away to anybody who tells us what to do and fuels our fear. With that mentality, we deserve what we get.

Anything Rocky has done, will do will be self serving, after all, he would like to rule the world.

Thank you Rocky for all your service, including representing the viewpoint of most Salt Lakers that the Bush Administration has committed atrocious acts while in office. Additionally, I am thankful that those from the surrounding communities don't live in SLC. If you suburbanites want to complain about OUR mayor then maybe you should live in the city where your vote would matter. No one complains about your mayors or elected representatives, though based on the UT state legislature's activities over the years it wouldn't be difficult. Rocky at least gives something in this state some credibility instead of being known for giving the worst president in our history the highest percentage of votes. Thanks Rock, good luck in your future endeavors.

I think we need to bring Hannity back and put him and Rocky in the Ultimate Combat ring. My prediction: Hannity in the 1st round.

I should expect the comments here to be mostly anti-Rocky. I also should expect these same commentators to be supportive of Bush since the primary reader demographic of this newspaper are mostly those Utahns in the 49% who still support Bush.

Rocky is a horrer show!!! I expect we will see him running for some reality show host somewhere. You people cant remember what kind of fun Clinton was. Yea I never inhaled either and please define what the word ? means. We are in an unpopular war, guess what? when we first went in he was the highest rated president with over 92% support. Oh how we forget the past. I am glad I have never made a mistake in public. We really dont want to know what goes on behind closed doors You go Rocky !! The first amend is a huge gift. ADRIAN !!!!

Go Rocky! We need more people that are willing to go out there and defend what they believe. This administration has been the most corrupt that I have seen since Nixon was in office. What a shame we have had to go through 7 years of this, the nation is divided and the world hates us as a result. We have a $9 trillion national debt that has never been close to being this high, and still climbing. And the mormans keep faithfully following like a bunch of cows over a cliff. No more war, no more trickle down debt! Reaganomics hurts the working class and the poor, eliminating the middle class.
Thanks Rocky for your service and 2 great terms!!!
