Utah growth makes 4th seat 'a cinch,' U. economist says

Population decline certainly can bring problems, but why do we seem addicted to a large population expansion? Of course it means profit to some, but it also means pressure on our environment and resources. It adds to the urban sprawl and much that we do not like in more population impacted states. Due to the economics and politics of the nation, there isn't much we can do about it, but what is the end game? Water shortages and increased taxpayer expense to manage environmental damage, and schools that we can't pay for now? It seems that we are trapped in a population pyramid scheme.
