Pointless article.
I was thinking what is the point of this article, but someone beat me to the comment.
I lived in Orange County, during my school years. I am glad to hear the Church is still strong there.
Can you be more obvious Mr. Johnson? What a waste of time and space!
Mormonism is a big rich global corporate business, what part of that do you not get. If you were a rich business tycoon would you not wish to have one of your own in the White House. It could be a tremendous asset.
I thought is was an interesting article. I find it mind bogling how much money is spent on an election and also interesting to seeing people helping each other in PRES. Romney's case.
I wonder how many other people choose to stay at Marriott Hotels, Maybe Mormons get a discount or something. IF I were a politician (which I am not) and a cafe donated to my campaign (and the food was good) I would think I would eat there - makes sense to me.
Maybe the Marriott can use the "Washington slept here" type advertising that some Inns have used in the past.
Must be a slow news day!
Romney would win if he were not a "Mormon". People are so afraid of that religion that they don't even try to learn about all of the good about it. More poeple just get on the band wagon to knock it. I am commenting to the above comment. Who cares what religion he is or the people that donate to his campaign. Where do all of the other people get there money from. Obama---from the black like Oprah?
Mormonism is NOT a big rich global corporate business. It is a set of beliefs and principles that have been beneficial to individual LDS Church members who have excelled in business.
Just like their whole world.
JUST GAMBLING
Kind of funny how people knock something so good. Any one realize that the church is rich because the members of that church WORK!? The church, if you investigate, is rich because the members give money to it. Grow up people, and go and work to make your own money instead of coveting someone elses.
That's all I have to say!!!!
I agree that this is a pointless article!
Being LDS, I myself like to do business with other LDS whenever possible. As I'm sure Huckabee and the others do the same with their friends. If this article is trying to summon up a scandal...I don't get it!
By the way Mr. Johnson, Utah's population majority is not people who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You better check your so called facts.
picked this out of the pile and called it news? Pass ...
If you don't like it, don't read it! What one person does not find interesting --someone else finds fasinating! **Newsflash--** Like ALL religions, there are rich people, and there are poor people. Finally, people do business with those people they are familiar with, either personally, or through someone else who knows that person or company. This is life, where have you been?
Why so defensive? The article is not making an accusations or judgments. Just reporting mildly interesting facts.
I'll take a Hilton over a Marriott.
I live in England and find the American presidential race facinating especialy the cost of it. Hoiw ever as a mormon myself I think that in Governor Romney's case youwould be getting a fine, loyal and honest President who would work for the benefit of the people. As mormons we are encouraged to work and to support each other when we can. Nothing wrong with that. Could become a global policy then we would see a change in the world.
This article is one of many written by an Associated Press reporter. The D-news chose to publish it.
I like the upgrades the Marriott gives when I stay there. I am a government employee and have been booked by Washington into mariotts more than any other hotel chain. I'm LDS and like Edwards, Obama and Romney in that order. So now you know my votes if only one of the three above are left standing. Good article for non LDS who now know that LDS have hotels, airlines and lots of options. Just like my ward, one third millionaries, one third military officers and enlisted, and one third welfare recipients in public housing. I think the welfare recepients will end up with better situations as they live gospel principles it does what it promises. thanks for previous bloggers, have a great day.
