I only wanted Korver to play more in the fourth. He is one of the people that needs to be out there down the stretch. I love brewer but we need Korver. This article should read Brewer watches as CJ plays in the fourth because he played most of it.

Slone needs to be careful, Korver is not known for his defense and Brewer is having a great year. He deserves the PT>

Brewer always does well in the first and third quarter. It's the fourth quarter that kills the jazz. He can't shoot the three and teams pack it in. Something has to change. Korver.

Let's see, Jazz lose a bunch of games in December in the 4th quarter. They acquire a new player, insert him in 4th quarter, now win twice. HMMMMM.

You hit the nail on the head. Philly's d was much more spread out in the 4th quarter, than what we have seen recently, and while I love Ronnie, you have got to figure out a way to have Korver in the game 'down the stretch in a close game...whether you are a little behind to hit a three...or ahead to make a few free throws. To be honest if it weren't for matchup problems and rebounds, there are times when I would like to see all 3 (Miles, Brewer and Korver)of them in there with Boozer and Williams. I know...that's a big stretch.

YUP! Several people caught on to what I thought. Fourth Q was the issue all through the December drought. Korvar's D couldn't be any worse than Ronnie's late game swoons. I like all 3 players -- Miles has true potential given some time, so I say play em all. 30 to 35 points from that position is a plus.

The three pointers are a bonus, the game was won at the line. Not exactly one of our 4th quarter strengths prior to Korver.

With the improvement of Brewer and Miles, and the trade for Kyle Korver, who seems to have already found a very integral role on this team, the Jazz no longer have a shooting guard problem in any shape or form. In fact, this situation now puts the ball in Sloan's court to try and figure out how best to divvy out playing team to three deserving guys. Also, this situation also makes Matt Harpring expendable, if Sloan wants to slide one of these three players over to small forward to back up Kirilenko, in Harpring's place, giving both the 2-guard and small forward quality depth with solid starters and reserves. Harpring's health will only get worse, and his contract is kind of big, so if the Jazz could find a way to tinker with their lineup to possibly move Harpring, that may be the best way to go. Harpring is a good player and a good person, but the fact is if any player's minutes should drop from this situation, it should be Matt's, not Brewer's.

Matt gives it all with what minutes he gets. He is highly productive. He gives us 15 solid minutes a night and is nearly automatic with his little jumper, plays good with his back to the basket and plays tough gritty D. You can't bench him.

I think CJ may be the most talented of the bunch....what about Almond?

I like the Korver trade for a number of reasons, it's an improvement all around, but I think the best part about it is that Korver will eventually fill Matt Harprings shoes. Matt has been a wonderful player, and I love his hustle, and I worried, because he's getting older, his health is poorer each season, and I think he's on his way to retirement. i worried what we would do in that position because matt is so valuable. I think that's where Korver will fit beautifully. He functions different than Matt, but he'll be a great replacement, and CJ and Brewer and Almond will take the two spot. Now if we could just dump Collins and Hart, and put in Price and Fess, we'll have a very capable second string.

I wish the Jazz would use Price as DWills back up or let AK play the point when DWill needs a rest and allow Miles and Brewer to help in handling the ball. Hart is horrible!

Harpring has one good game out of every 10. He does play hard, but when he is off he is way off and keeps shooting and shooting and shooting and........... His defense never was good but now that he is hurt everyone scores on him. Please get rid of Harpring slide Korver between the 2 and Harpring spot, and give more time to CJ first and formost and then to Brewer. Go Jazz

Hart should be traded if anyone is dumb enough to take him. I am sick of seeing him not play defense, and put up those shotput jumpers that don't have a prayer of going in. I hold my breath everytime he comes in, and I don't dare exhale until D-Will replaces him. Play price, play Brewer or Miles at the point someone please anyone but Hart.

The only one who is almost as bad as Hart is Collins. He is great when you need someone to flop while playing Shaq but against anyone else he is pathetic.

Sports bookies make money because they can see things the way they are, not the way they wish they were. Sloan has a job because he has the same ability. He also has an owner who trusts him to do his job and doesn't constantly try to override him or second-guess him. Most Jazz fans tend to look too much at offense and not enough at defense. They also have unrealistic dreams, such as having two All Star point guards on the same time, or trading a backup center for a starter. I, for once, admire Sloan and his insights and realize that nobody plays meaningful minutes for the Jazz without putting every effort into individual and team defense. Harping is an excellent defender, and I'll bet he consistently holds the guy is defending below his own scoring level per minute.

The excusses are starting to fall, just last week, Brewer was doing so great , according to SlowN. Now, he needs to work harder,not let anyone jumpshoot on him ?

Great comments. What you said is right on the money. Everyone whines about Sloan, but he is consistent in his treatment of players, i.e., he always pushes them harder. If you have every played sports in your life, you should know that they only way to get better is to have a coach or trainer or someone who can push you.

Okur's defense is killing the Jazz. That's why he sat the entire 4th quarter against Portland. We need to move Boozer to the 5. New lineup would look like this.

Starter/backup/emergency backup
D-Will/Price/Miles
Miles/Brewer/(Almond)
Korver/Matt/Brewer
AK/Millsap/Boozer
Boozer/Okur/(Fez)

We have played well with this small of lineup. Boozer and Okur on the floor together is the weakest defense in the league. That lineup will keep scores and defense on the floor the entire time. I can't see the need for Collins, or Hart. Put them together and trade for a defensive big man.

Uh Dan... memo has been playing good defense, at least a heck of a lot better than boozer. boozer is one of the laziest defenders and to me it seems memo shows more effort on defense. oh and im sure your eating your words after memos effort and performance last night against the 76ers

They both look like they are running in sand. My point is that they shouldn't be on the floor together. Ask Aldridge, I'm sure he would play Memo every night. Just when did you see Memo play good D? Once! against Yao Ming, the slowest big man in the league. If your center is (was) your best 3 point shooter, you got problems defending! IF we were still playing man to man in the NBA, Okur would be tough because he could pull other REAL centers away from the hoop. I think we trade him to dump that monster contract, and pick up a physical big man. And you are right, Boozer is soft, but the guy can score!
