Reason for this is we are pre-occupied with wild goose chases instead.

I hope Dave isn't suggesting the elimination of checks and balances.
As in one of the Mel Brooks movies, "It's good to be the King" is great - if you are the King.

To bad the pentagons effort to fight weapon of mass destruction isnt going as well as the pentagons efforts to fight imaginary weapon of mass destruction.

Once again, the GAO marshalls forces to point out the obvious. Sort of like "stepping on ants while the elephants run wild".

The term "WMD" is the nebulous monicer for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical weapons. The liars who run our country discovered they could scare America into a revenge war by saying "WMD" - and therefore NOT have to say what the weapons were: nukes, germs or chemical agents. They couldn't say - because they didn't know. Nor did it matter. Fear was all they were striving for.

So it is no wonder the DOD hasn't developed a coordinated approach to "WMDs". That would be like the Education Department planning a coordinated attack on "Bad Teaching Methods". Each type of weapon requires it's own engineering, chemistry, physics and handling. They are NOT related - and can not be coordinated as a single type of weapon.

Besides - if the boogey man goes away, what will the liars do to keep America under their control?

It's about time we had a president who's not afraid to step up to the plate and make the biggest mistake in the history of world civilization.

The industrial military complex is one of the few ways to make some bucks in the new Global economy. And the taxpayer gets to pick up the bill.

No ONE person is perfect nor is our Government Perfect. But we as a Nation must stand together as one or we will fall pray to Nations that would love to destroy our way of life. We may not always agree with our intelligence agencies nor our Military strategies but we must SUPPORT the outcome and our Government. Sometimes Freedom is high priced but that is the price we must pay. I served during Vietnam while everyone was spitting on our flag not to mention our uniform's. Thirty Years latter the same people are running our Government and or have the most to say!! I will give my live for you to have that freedom but I will also DEFEND our Government with all of my ABILITY if they need me. I have no love for the Middle Eastern Country's that allow or support their people to take up arms against AMERICA or any other free Democratic Government. 9-11 was our wake up call! So was Pearl Harbor! Is your family Safe?????

Inherently, the Pentagon is in no position to spearhead this global campaign because it has a war fighting mentality but this campaign is not a war. The mission was misplaced because in the absence of any major war the DOD had to perform an important national security role. Now that the war in Iraq is expected to last another 5-6 years, let other better equipped agencies take the lead.

Nuclear proliferation is the most important issue facing civilization. At stake is our ability to continue living in relative safety in cities. The issue needs the sustained attention of our government and the public and a determination to get results.
