Iowans like scrutinizing candidates at length

Your question is a non-sequitur. The winner of the Democratic or Republican nomination in Iowa doesn't predict who will become the next President. Even if the person who wins the nomination in Iowa goes on to become President it doesn't mean that the state of Iowa predicted his win.
That being the case, you can look up the actual outcome of the Iowa caucuses since 1972 on Wikipedia under "Iowa caucus." Furthermore, Iowa is the first state who holds a caucus and it can give us a feel for where the country is at based on who they support but it doesn't predict anything.
For example, the winner of the Iowa Democratic caucus went on to get the nomination in 1976, 1980, 1984, 2000 and 2004. There was no Democratic caucus in 1996, and the eventual nominee in 1972 came in second, and third in 1988 and 1992 (Bill Clinton only got 3%). This is the most interesting since he actually won the White House.
So in conclusion, Iowa is an indicator and not a predictor of the nomination or successful Presidential candidate.
Huckabee recommended that McCain, after McCain explaining that he just finished a campaign Ad. against Romney, Huckabee suggested to McCain to continue with airing his campaign Ad. McCain agreed to move forward upon the recommendation of Huckabee.
McCain and Huckabee are in bed together. If Huckabee wins the nomination, he plans to select McCain for the Vice President position.

McCain and Huckabee are liars and phony persons. They will do anything or say anything to steal your votes.
McCain and Huckabees public records show that they supports and approves first class citizenship status to illegal immigrants and gave second class citizenship status to American citizens. They increased tax on U.S. citizens. Illegal immigrants do not pay tax. They are loyal to illegal immigrants, but not to U.S. citizens, the taxpayers.
If Iowa or New Hampshire constituents want second class citizenship status, then they can go ahead and vote for McCain or Huckabee.
But, if Iowa or New Hampshire constituents want first class American citizenship status, then they should support and vote for Romney.
It appears that Iowa rose to prominence by maneuvering, and the parties have become so entrenched in the Iowan ground war as to be averse to any change of venue. Accordingly, the Republican and Democratic parties hold the rest of the country hostage in Iowa, waiting for Iowans to tell us all how we should vote.
I am not opposed to the type of campaigning that takes place in Iowa, but I think the disproportionate amount of time and money spent in that state is a waste, and unfair to the rest of the United States.
Romney is the biggest disappointment of this whole election cycle. He is smart, rich, and well organized. But a short visit to Youtube is enough to convince anyone with half an ounce of brains that he is a fake.
I wish the media would stop reporting on the popularities and poll results and such, and report on EACH candidate and their speeches and public statements (the actual speech, not the paraphrased (and often twisted) sound bites that we get in "news" stories)
Anyway, so who is Ron Paul??
After George Washington refused to be crowned king, the Constitutional convention proceeded to create a strong, king-like chief executive. It really is important who is elected to the office of President.
But we, the American people have, over the last 50-100 years have consistently voted for Presidents who we knew were lying to us in the election campaign and lacked the wisdom and judgment to lead the country properly.
Ron Paul knows where we need to go and how to lead us there and has the consistent public record going back over his 20 year history in public office supporting that conclusion.

John Fund says that Huckabee "is not the 'consistent conservative' he now claims to be. Phyllis Schlafly goes even further by claiming Huckabee "destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas, and left the Republican Party a shambles." Strong words!
Maybe those who are surveying the Republican field and siding with Huckabee because they perceive him to be the only evangelical in the field should look a little closer at his record and words.
Check his records out for yourself. They dont sound too good.
