I have been thinking the same thing but was waiting for someone else to say it first.

I'm sick of all the months of focus by candidates and the media on NH and Iowa and all the manuvering by various states to become the first to hold their primary so they can get all this candidate and media attention.

I am especially disapointed in my Utah legislators for getting caught up in the same clamoring for attention and earmarking $5 Million of the State budget so Utah could get it's little piece of the primary-hype-pie.

People in the media (like Doug Wright at KSL) were very happy about this use of state funds (the same people who argued against allocating $4 million to defend Utah's anti-abortion laws in the same session). Hmmm, lets see... holding a meaningless political primary is "Important", but doing something that may save Utahn's lifes (even if it is just one) isn't "Important"?

I still don't quite understand why Doug Wright was all for the primary. Something about bringing political attention to our little state? Is that worth $5-Million? He is in the media and this will give him something to talk about.
