Mormons for Huckabee | 1:23 a.m. Jan. 2, 2008
Is 'Gold or silver' finish really what Romney said? Who cares?!?

What did Ron Paul say?

What did Fred Thompson say?

What did John McCain say?

What did Duncan Hunter say?

What did Rudy say?

Heaven forbid... what did Mike Huckabee say?

The Deseret News is a liberal-leaning publication if they only report on Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney is a liberal, just like his father.

Romney may not be as conservative as Huckabee, but a little more moderation is what our country needs most right now. We're already too polarized.
And you may be a Mormon for Huckabee, but I doubt Huckabee is for Mormons what with the Jesus-Devil-brothers comment. C'mon, he's a baptist minister for heaven's sake. What baptist minister doesn't understand the delicate intricacies of rival religions. Give me a break. It was just plain mean-spirited.

"He's a baptist minister for heaven's sake".

That sounds like a bigoted comment if I ever heard one. The sun doesn't rise and set in Provo, you know.

I've been in the Army for 13 years now and have heard all kinds of questions, from polygamy to one day having your own planet. I remember being in Korea and having some young Korean soldier ask me about the Jesus/Satan Brother connection. Why? Because for someone who isn't in the faith, they might want to find out more about that particular doctrine. It's curiosity - that's all. Orson Pratt and Mark E. Peterson made remarks that one might think constitutes that doctrine. Big deal. I don't care.

What I care about is good goverment. We have one govenor from the South and one from New England. Off the bat, I think the Huck has more down-to-earth values. If he's a faithful Mormon or Pentacostal or Baptist or Muslim, I'm all for it. Mitt Romney will raise our taxes. Mitt Romney will make goverment bigger. Mitt Romney legislated gay civil unions in his own state. I won't develop any disdain for a baptist simply because Romney claims to be a faithful mormon.

I won't vote for Hillary Clinton, but that doesn't make me a sexist.

I won't vote for Barrack Obama, but that doesn't make me a racist.

I won't vote for John McCain, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate America's veterans.

I won't Rudy Guliani, but that doesn't mean that I'm for Italian defamation.

With Huckabee and Mitt Romney running neck-and-neck, I probably won't vote for Fred Thompson, but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy Law and Order.

Not voting for Mitt Romney doesn't make you anti-Mormon. Being a baptist doesn't make you wrong to run against a Mormon.

Governor Mitt Romney passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced, instead tapping registered Democrats or independents including two gay lawyers who have supported expanded same-sex rights.

Governor Mitt Romney promoted homosexual propaganda in Massachusetts schools through the Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, funding this bureaucracy of social engineering instead of eliminating it.

I have looked to my Mormon roots for this GOP Primary, and I, as one individual Mormon representing only myself, will cast my vote for Governor Huckabee for this GOP Primary. I hope he wins the ticket.

I'd like to see in politics who would merit the amount of press coverage given former MASS. governor Mitt Romney (living or dead):

Brigham Young, Edward Abbey, Orson Scott Card, Ken Jennings, Wallace Stegner, Larry H. Miller, Butch Cassidy, John Willard Marriott, Robert Redford, Karl Malone, Kim Peek, Marriner Eccles, Wilford Brimley, Steve Young...

A. I'm not from Provo.
B. Been in the military 15 years.
C. I was pulling for Huck.
D. Still never met a Baptist minister that didn't know all the sore spots to poke at when talking religion. Don't be naive.
If he wants to avoid talking religion he should say so, and not spout off tongue-in-cheek. His sense of humor is going to cost him. And this time it cost him my vote. He crossed the line.
I will not give Huck a pass. He's way too smart to play the ignorance card.
Oh, and I really like the negative add that didn't get aired. He probably got more negative mileage on that one than any other negative add run thus far.

Huck is slick and I don't trust him. Plus, he won't be able to beat the democrats. The country is tired of the religious right.
