what an idiotic statement..."Face it Utah you gotta cheat um to beat um". The UTES didn't cheat Navy, the refs mad a bad call (which is the reason they made their statement saying so!). Saying the Utes directly "cheated" the Navy football team would imply that they somehow bribed the officials to make that call, or all the players stood around the refs and threatened to beat them up after the game if they called it a fumble.

The players just play football. The penalties and missed calls happen, but the players have to play regardless.

Here's some advice for you, wii:
"Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
Utah is a joke | 9:00 a.m. Dec. 22, 2007
The best talented Non-BSC team in the country wouldn't have struggled to beat a team with almost the worst defense in the entire country and they would have won their conference and their fans would have actually bought tickets to the game. There's nothing in SNOTville but daydreaming. Glad you won, but you guys are pathetic.

The only "obsurd" thing here is your spelling. Are you kidding me? What was your major at BYU? Hisstery?

why aren't ALL you Utahns pleased with a MWC team winning a bowl game? I hope the MWC ends up 4-0 this bowl season...how about you?

Utah won. It was an excellent, outstanding entertaining bowl game. Navy was awesome and showed a ton of heart and resolve and never gave up. Utah played great. Johnson turned into a scoring machine and played at his best level. I am proud of the Utes. I loved that game. I hope the BYU game is as entertaining and that the MWC is as well represented.
Boring | 10:11 a.m. Dec. 22, 2007
The game was exciting; however the MWC is boring. If the MWC did not continue to exist, would anyone outside of its fan base notice?

Ute fans, its always so amusing to read your anti-BYU posts. Maybe they'll actually hurt when Utah beats BYU. Remember? We swept you in bball last year too! Freaking utards!

Who cares about all of this minor bowl talk?

Utah and BYU along with about 50 other so-called BCS bowl game teams are totally irrelevant. Every game in reality during the season counts. If a team loses more than 1 game they will definitely be relegated to sub meaningful bowl status. Going to these dot com bowls is a joke! It's just another day after (or Monday morning) quarterbacks opportunity to weigh in on things they probably know little or nothing about.
Replays don't mean the correct call will be made. I know of a former NFL official (who lives in Davis County) who said if an official made more than one bad call during the year, he would not be considered for the NFL playoffs. If anyone who knows what they are viewing on TV or what they may see while attending games (and knows the rules) and for all practical purposes know what game officials know, will admit if they are truthful, that many oversights and incorrect calls are made every game. If everything was called there would be nothing but whistles during a game. Holding could be called on virtually every down.

Hang in there fans!

That certain former NFL official (who lives in Davis County) wouldn't be John Robinson, would it? Just curious.

acutally, I hope the MWC ends up 5-0 in bowl games (BYU, Utah, TCU, New Mexico, and Air Force). Get the facts right next time, dude.
Over the TOP, Again!!! | 2:25 p.m. Dec. 22, 2007
Way to go UTEs, the cougars put one over the top and won the game. did your defense not learn anything about pass coverage? Navy did exactly the same thing and apparently, no one is bringing it up in the post...The SAILOR is still open!!!

First off, I'm a Navy fan. I don't think that Utah's win was luck. They played a good game. Navy played a good game too, and had its chances to win, including a dropped touchdown pass and a fumble on the 2 yard line. That said, I don't know whether we would have won or lost had the refs made the correct call on the goal line fumble. That's not the point to me. The point is that refs on the field miss calls...that's life. And yes, replay officials miss calls too, but it's their job to at least know the rules! And the replay officials at this game didn't even know the rule. Are you kidding me? Didn't even know the rule?! That's a travesty. Who are they hiring?! high school kids? It's not even a complicated rule, and it wasn't even close. I think that it's an embarrassment and the officiating crew should be ashamed. The replay official should be fired.
