They register sex offenders, why not those convicted of DUI? I'm not talking about the first offense but after a second offense. In 2005 over 16,000 people were killed due to alcohol related accidents, many of which were children.
Van Dyke has the system down. Refuse the sobriety tests and challenge it in court. He has 5 convictions, but my bet is that he has many more charges.
@ JWK
That's a good idea. These people might think about drinking and driving if their faces show up on the web as a convicted drunk drive.
Our thanks to Judge Laycock.
Something needs to make VanDyke think twice. But after 5 convictions I wonder if even this will.
This person is a menace to society.with five(5)d.u.i and or d.w.i's he should have his driving privileges revoked for 99 years and one day.then after that if he can prove to the courts that he is a responsible citizen then give him his license back.
he is a dangerous intersection without a light
why wait until some one dies there
use restraint
restrict him to work only driving (his final, final, last chance)
one minor drunk fender bender, take his license away for good
then send him to las vegas becuz what happens in vegas stays in vegas
5, five, come on!....why wait til he kills someone...
take his license for good
According to the story he already has killed someone and continues to accumulate charges and convictions. Sounds remorseless and continuing in his addiction to me. He should not be driving, ever.
his mind is in a blurr .. after a year in jail he may begin to see maybe..he just kept drinking to mask his pain , time to take it off. they say some of these guys have driven drunk thousands of times w/out being caught per conviction and this guy represents that. so take a good look at your child as they are out there this time of year acting like road warriors!
He should be forever banned from driving a SUV or anything else larger than a small Kia.
you know, he most definitely made a huge mistake by deciding to pick up a drink again after getting out of prison, but alcoholism is a disease! I work in that field and watch those with this disease suffer & struggle to stay sober...even with professional help.
i'm not trying to give him an excuse, but we really don't know if he was drunk either. Apparently he was pulled over because someone called in...not because he violated any traffic rules. So how does this judge have the right to do what she did with bail when there is NO proof? It seems like someone might like the publiciity that a case like this could provide for her.
