great idea and planning. these two cities are to be applauded for this multi-use facilities.

Terrible idea

Instead of finding ways to use more water, maybe we should be looking at more appropriate landscapes. We live in a desert, why do we insist on having lawns that look like New England? Green lawns are ridiculous here. Imagine the time, money, water, and fuel we could save if we had desert appropriate landscaping.

Having grown up in the north east and listening to people complain about all the time and money that goes into keeping the lawn under control, I have to laugh at everyone out here who creates the same problems on purpose.

Yes, Terrible

But we're not SMART enough here to do anything else but landscape with inappropriate plantings.

Alas, there's no incentive and very little guidance.

Look at the inappropriate freeway exit "beautification" projects in Lindon and Layton, which could have been exemplars for beautiful, appropriate xeriscaping. Instead, more water-sucking plantings and high-cost plumbing fixtures were installed.

This is a DESERT and it really doesn't need to blossom inappropriately./o

Curious

Hey, Riverton city council and mayor, are you going to try to make this a Toll Reservoir kinda like how you tried to make 12600 South and 13400 South both toll roads for Herriman residents?

confused

Ironical how one stories talks of the need for water conservation and the Colorado River Pact, and another sings the praises of a reservoir to water our lawns. I'm sorry to be harsh, but some people just don't get it do they? Water is a limited resource, why waste it on something as superficial and shallow as a golf course green lawn.

Cool ammenity for the S.E. Herriman/riverton residents!

We welcome it!

7Mil is quite a chunck, hope it pays for the price tag via 2ndary water?

10 years!

Wow, 10 years to get to only 56 percent of the city? Herriman should have been doing this from the get go. I am sick of paying culinary prices for water.
