If you want socialised medicine, move to Canada where they have had it for years. I lived there and the system was terrible. I have heard about the possibility of change there too. I have no problem with taxes helping the poor children without medical insurance. I do have a problem with adults being included in the program.
So if you want you and anyone else is saying let the people get sick and don't help them let them move to where some one cares because apparently no one here does
If you understood the problem in socialised medicine you would know that NO ONE cares! The doctor gets paid (annual salary)if you are seen or not, so why see you? They move the doctors around every few years so people don't die from the "bad" doctors. The apathy of doctors there is much greater than you might imagine. Become educated about a subject before you speak. I think children should be helped. They are innocent and shouldn't have to work but they should learn from their parents to work for the things they need/want. I couldn't afford medical insurance through my work, so I worked harder (longer hours) until I could afford it. My children had CHIP (50% program) until then. I was relieved that I could take them to get medical help if needed. I currently pay $500+/month for insurance. I will NEVER want socialised medicine here. Not-for-profit hospitals will care for anyone... try one if you need it.
