Huckabee is trying to make this race between a Baptist and a Mormon - totally unaceptable in American politics. He is being asked to define Mormonism by the media. How can Huckabee define Mormonism when he knows nothing about it's belief. He believes they are not Christain, so what else can he add to that. In my 50 years in politics I have never seen religion played out in the campaign the way it is in this election. Why is Huckabee not discussing what he is going to do for our nation if he is elected. I believe Romney's speech will clarify a lot of these issues.
Mike Huckabee basically said it's not his place to comment on another's faith. Good for him. He's right.
As a former Baptist Minister Huckabee has undoubtedly had a lot to say about Mormons and Mormonism. Baptists are the most opinionated and usually vile component of anti Mormon rhetoric. So, how can Huckabee serve as President of all the people if has bashed the religious beliefs of a significant and growing number of Mormons? Huckabee needs to come clean on what he has said about Mormonism in the past. If he becomes President and ever happens to sit down with the leader of the Mormon Church it should be a very revealing meeting.
You know, they should just get RID of the word POLITICS all together. Because when it comes to who gets to be the president or governer, it isn't REALLY about politics. It's about their RELIGON, GENDER, and RACE. It doesn't matter whether or NOT they'd actually BE good as a president. They just have to LOOK good doing it.
