Naw, we can eat fish, the fish get little nutrition from the snail, thus causing the fish to literally starve to death from lack of nutrition. This means smaller fish. This also mean you can't move them to other waters or the eggs that the fish accidentally pick up will be left in that container or water, creating more snails in other places.
Just don't eat their guts.
