Why would I want a ticket to a game where the Cougars are playing a poor team like the Bruins. I think the MWC commissioner should be sent to Sebira.
NO TV, POOR BOWL GAMES ETC.
Who in their right mind would spend $60-$75 dollars on such a weak bowl? The Bruins are 6-6, they just fired their coach, these two teams have already played once, and it's only a pre-Christmas bowl that lacks prestige. In my opinion, BYU has already lost just by drawing this bowl and this match-up. Boycott this game!!! Go watch a better match-up in San Diego.
Clearly "Seaaon ticket holder" is a ute troll ... a cougarfan would not have butchered "Siberia" so badly.
At this point who cares who they are playing! There isnt much we can do about it now! And this is the last BYU football game we will see for months so I'll enjoy it while it lasts! I bought tickets early and paid $30 a seat. I'm just happy to take some vacation!
Also, BYU fans are the cheapest around! $60 for a game is nothing! The Vegas Bowl is one of the cheapest to go to and cheapest to get to!
Why would I want to spend 75$ on a ticket: Unga, Pitta, Hall, Collie, Kehl, Jorgensen, etc. etc.
GO COUGARS!
Pretenders stay home! Your the ones who spend the game on your buts anyway-we don't need/want you.
I have gone to almost every bowl game BYU has played. BYU only has 6,000 tickets available this year and these will be gone by now. I checked on the Internet and the only tickets available are from scalpers at exorbitant costs of over $100 for the crappy 300 series sardine seats and about $250 and more for sideline seats. I don't understand why BYU did not negotiate for more seats when this affiliation was first set up. Needless to say I and my family will not be going this year and I hope the scalpers get stuck with thousands of tickets. Warning, DO NOT BUY THE 300 SERIES SEATS!
By the way UCLA Season ticket holders can buy tickets for $30. Their students who are season ticket holders can buy the ticket for $15. A student who does not hold regular season tickets can buy a ticket for $30.
I was at the Rose Bowl and witnessed a game that hinged on a couple of very controversial home field calls. Pac 10 officiating has been notoriously bad, when it come to MWC games. The fact that they are required at all Pac 10 home games against non-Pac 10 schools should raise a red flag to everyone. Halls arm was obviously going forward on the fumble in the blue zone. The operator of the in stadium replay, terminated the play just before Hall's arm began to go forward and did not show the replay again. Every other big play was shown several times. Bottom line: we lost a game that many feel we should have won. Take the Pac 10 officials and home field out of the equation and the Cougars should pound UCLA in Las Vegas. We have little to gain if we beat UCLA, as everyone expects it. The impact will be much greater if we lose. I'm a Cougar backer, so I'll be there to help our guys get the job done. Let's prepare the Bruins for a little of what they should expect again next September at Lavell Edwards Stadium!
Just buy tickets through UCLA. There is no way they've already sold their 6,000 seat allotment.
And, if you want to get tickets in the future, join the Cougar Club so you can be in the first teir of ticket sales.
Sam Boyd Stadium is great to watch a game, nice and small. Quit whining about how bad some seats are. For the WAC championship in 1996 we were in those 300 series seats and had a great time. Not to mention that there were KSL reporters sitting in the same section...
I sat there last year and it was a miserable experience. They are essentially high school metal bleachers set up a the top of the stadium except they actually tried to number these seats with space that is just not possible for an average person. I had my 5 year old with me and I had to hold on to her the whole game with fear that she would fall through the space at the bottom and fall a good 10 feet. Terrible experience that I would not do again. DO NOT buy these tickets for anything over face value. By the way don't worry - scalpers bought TONS of these tickets and they will not have the demand this year so prices will go way down. And if you just go to the game you will see a lot of people selling tickets for face value or even less. Hopefully the scalpers learn their lesson this year.
Yfan,
Check UCLA's site on Friday after 4 (that is when the offer to UCLA's season ticket holders and boosters ends) and tickets should be available to the public for face value (I think $50).
If that doesnt work for you then just wait till about a week before the game when tickets drop in price (they did this last year) or you can just show up at the game and scalpers are desparate to sell cause most BYU fans wont go to the game without tickets in hand. Tickets will be cheap there.
Good luck!
Last year I bought 6 tickets through Oregon's website, I figured I would put up with the Duck fans so I could save a few hundred bucks. Turns out there wasn't a Duck fan within 5 rows of me, and they expect less bruin fans this year. So if your worried about sitting in the visiting seats, don't be, they wont show.
Ticket! NO THANKS! We will be holidaying elsewhere!
I am a BYU alumni that is sick and tired of the MWC and lack of respect given by the rest of the nation. I'm sick of the lack of national tv coverage. I'm sick of the Las Vegas bowl opponent - a Pac-10 4th or 5th place team. So, basically, the MWC champion is more or less equivalent to the PAC-10 5th place team? I'm sick of the BCS. I'm basically sick of college football. I'm not buying tickets nor will I ever buy any more tickets. I'm sick, sick, sick of the NCAA football.
The TV will work just fine for this lame game.
Tickets are now available for season ticket holders as well. General Public tickets go on sale on Friday. I am excited for the game. I will always be grateful for NCAA football games, even if they don't get the matching up of opponents always correct.
We go to support. We have no control. True Fans will follow the team and support them. Stop worrying about seats and opponents and enjoy our Cougs success! I was at the Rose Bowl I was in Tuscon last year and in Vegas to watch our boys romp Oregon heres to one more win to prove we are ligit. Our Time will come this is only our 3rd bowl in the last 5 years. GO COUGS
P.S. WE ARE A YOUNG TEAM OUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT!
This is one game you need to go to, the BYU fans will own the stadium and the Bruins like usual will own the cougars.
