I am a happy and proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints. You my friend have the issue. I have a testimony to this faith and will
follow those, such Brother Romney who will lead the faith further into the
global arena.

Chill, people! The negativity towards the Republicans in general and Romney and
the LDS faith stems from the fact that the media LOVES Hillary and Obama. They
are playing up the 'it factor' with them as they are the golden
children of the minorities running. They have had just as many -if not more-
guffaws in what they have said, yet hardly any of the media reporters will take
those on and carry them like a flag charging the opposition. The media is
pretty much running the campaigns for everyone. Too bad the candidates messages
are not as out front as what the bad statements are. Are you ready to make up
your mind? I certainly am not, as I haven't heard what I think is the
clarion bell of who will actually do the job and do it well. It's still
early in the game.

I can't wait until Mitt clarifies that the LDS Church (Mormons) is the only
ture church and the garden of Eden is in Missouri and worthy mormon males can
become gods of their own planet after death and have multiple wives in their
Celestrial Kingdom.

on this opinion comment thread. We understand the scope and importance of Mr.
Romney and should not need to feel threatened nor attack those who do not share

Dear "Only True Church", Mitt is making this address because bigots
like you don't understand the true doctrines of the church and have
distorted the truths the Church does teach it's people. I feel sorry for
people like you who have to "Slant" truth by being synical. It is your
type of attitude that has so many against the LDS Church because of your own
prejudices. This is America, and we all have the right to worship God according
to the dictates of our own conscience. No matter what your beliefs are, I
respect them and offer you the right to worship God as you see fit if you even
choose to do so, because that is your right as an american to do so. Governor
Romney is going to address the issue to try and dispell fears which are rooted
from people like you who have been spreading this kind of propoganda around for
177 years, so the common american will know Mormons are Christians and that he
will run the Presidency as it's president, not Church. That is the biggest
thing he will be trying to do. I pray the spirit is with him, and all will
beWell.

Mitt Romney is running for president of the government. About half of the
things any president does will be seen as mistakes by most people. Mormons will
not understand how a Mormon who is president can make so many mistakes so fast
-- it is Mormons who need to understand how this works. Getting elected will be
the easy part -- governing will be extremely painful and embarrassing -- every
president can testify to that. No one who is elected president will emerge with
his or her honor and integrity intact.

There is no reason why the LDS Church and Mitt Romney's presidential bid
should be seperated. As per the LDS prophet Joseph Smith's prophesy, an LDS
like Mitt Romney would be the one who would save the United States.

I'm a Republican who wouldn't mind seeing Sen. Obama win in 2008.
I'll probably vote Republican like I always do/always have, which means for
whoever gets the nomination next year. But Obama as President would be good in
my book... I'd like to see him face off against Mitt instead of Hillary.
I really don't see any Republican winning though, our next President will
most likely be either Hillary or Obama.

Mitt Romney is no John Kennedy. John Kennedy was unfaithful to his wife, kept
secrets from the public, and had poor judgment. Mitt Romney is THREE for THREE

DMK, perhaps you don't know that the LDS church claims to be a restoration
of the original Christian church, which predated the Catholic church. The
Catholic church claims the priesthood authority was passed down from the
apostles to the popes. The LDS church believes the priesthood was lost until it
was restored by resurrected apostles to the early leaders of the LDS church.
Let each person study the Bible and decide for themselves which religion most
closely reflects Christ's teachings.

The original Christian church has a much more proven history and substance than some hearsay.
Maybe you are just hung up on the 80 million part.
But if one keeps baptizing dead people, LDS numbers will surely grow.

Evangelical Christians are black and people of color. We denounce Mormonism

Every candidate should be judged on actions and beliefs as well as speech.
Romney�s speech was great; well written. However, as
someone who�s now lived in UT for about 5 years
I�ve a very strong distrust of the LDS church. If you live
in UT and aren't a mormon you're a minority in every sense of the
word. The constant presence and pressure of the church is overbearing. Listen
to the local news and try to find a single day out of the year when some aspect
of the LDS faith isn�t mentioned . . . It's like
nothing you'll ever see in any other state or by any other religious
organization. The LDS church forces its way into every aspect of society here.
Why do you think UT is the most depressed state? I vote Republican, but because
he's mormon & because of that church I couldn�t
vote for him. Religion should never be an issue in America. However, when
there is the potential for the leader of our country to pursue mormon words,
deeds, and thoughts � to be controlled by a society that
doesn�t follow mainstream American views or beliefs -
religion has to be an topic.
