Utah housing market still thriving

Utah homebuilders may want to consider the situation in states like California and Michigan as the canary in the mine. When the canary dies it is time to get out or otherwise protect yourself. One good thing that should come out of this decline I hope, will be that the bad companies that have been doing the shoddy work will be driven out of business. We can only hope.

The national media is affecting peoples attitude about housing in Utah, this should give them more confidence.

Clearly we're not talking about the same Utah here, I can barely move for "For Sale" signs strewn across the street. This article is cynical at the least.

Consider all the folks who thought they'd retire at 65 in 2007. And now they can't sell. A quick Google search turns up a Utah life expectancy of 70.0 (?) for non-LDS males. In other words, every "For Sale" sign you see may belong to some poor devil anticipating the prime of their life - only to be stuck in their Sugar House Shanty Home for their remaining few years. I cry.

It's now Dec 19th and we now know this article is utter baloney. Seems lately with business and economic news, if they make a bold statement like "everything is fine" you can bet it's baloney and should start taking measures to protect yourself.
