I will grant that a person may change his or her mind on a major policy issue based on decent, legitimate moral grounds. The question that really needs to be asked is, "Is Romney's change of opinion on abortion the only major policy shift? If not, then one must consider whether such a wholesale change in a person's belief in fundamental issues is likely based on some huge shift in perception, a revolution of thought, or what other source or basis?"
Mitt Romney is a liberal.
