That's amazing... I can believe that though. I would hope though that people would try harder to keep their children safe, by asking someone to show them how to install their childs car seat. Especially since children up to about 4 feet are supposed to be in a car seat.
Great! If our kids don't get killed on the school bus (without lagoon type restraints) they will probably get killed in our own cars because only 3 percent of us can install the restraint systems properly.
One important fact missing from this is that the handle of infants seats nees to be lowered while riding in the car. If the handle is up it alters the weight and can change the force of gravity on the seat.
I have always heard about size and weight in keeping kids in a booster seat. My daughter is a special needs child, with major physical problems. What does one due, when her bottom no longer fits into the seat? Primary Childrens told us to just use regular seat belt. So now if I am stopped, I am going to be told she needs the seat and get a ticket?
Actually, the handle staying down on a car seat is no longer required. It depends on the car seat manufacturer, some allow the handle to be up while driving. Check your instruction manual. Also, it's the retainer clip, not the harness, that needs to remain at armpit level.
