I blame president Bush for this incident. He caused global warming, which caused the iceberg to break free from Antarctica which caused the ship to sink. It is his fault. Rocky for president!!!!!!!!!!!

Evil Rep - so true! How weird is that to come across a piece of ice floating in the Antartica? Next to impossible, I'd say. Good thing you are blameless, though; never drive a car, don't use any energy or buy anything that is produced from sources that creates greenhouse gases, etc., right? Yup, it's all Bush.

Let me get this straight: A decent-sized, multi-million dollar cruise ship is in danger of sinking because of a hull breach the size of a *fist*???

What kind of incompetents do they have crewing that ship? If the facts are being reported correctly, there's no excuse for what must be a total absence of damage-control protocols. Either that, of the ship was horribly unseaworthy. A hole that small shouldn't be capable of sinking a ship that big. Most ships are (a) compartmentalized to keep flooding local, and (b) stocked with damage-control material to plug small leaks.

Unless there's more to the story than a "fist-sized hole" (as in, the collison with the ice may have sprung some seams, etc.), there's no good reason the ship should be in danger of sinking (which will create the danger of an oil spill into the pristine Antarctic waters).

I agree with Thomas!

Next time... Run to the galley (kitchen) Grab an old tin can... hammer flat... weld over the hole!

Fist sized hole.. haven't they heard of duct tape?

Seriously, there HAS to be more to it than that! You can save ROWBOAT with a hole that size.

I suspect a typo - instead of reading "a hole the size of a FIST" it was probably intended to read "a hole the size of a FIAT" - check your keyboard (roflol!)
