Vs Jackson St: BYU wins by 39, Louisville wins by 31. Vs Hartford: BYU wins by 34, Louisville wins by 35. BYU wins this one and upsets Pitino's boyz.
Big Love | 5:37 a.m. Nov. 23, 2007
After this win BYU and the boys will enter into the top 15 and climbing.

Jimmy thinks that if the Cougs lose by less than 20 than it will be a moral victory.
Go Cougs | 8:03 a.m. Nov. 23, 2007
BYU basketball teams have historically struggled to beat high ranked opponents. I'm cheering like crazy for the Cougs and I'm really hoping for an upset! Let's go cougs, let's change the trend!
Back to Reality | 9:40 a.m. Nov. 23, 2007
BYU will be down 20 entering the final 10 minutes and end up losing by 25 plus. They don't have the muscle, speed or coaching to stay with Louisville. Let's just try and stay competetive in our own pathetic conference.

We are protected from the world with the mountains surrounding us and a terrific television package that allows the entire country to see us, therefore the recruits are clamoring to come to Provo.

I was at the game UNLV/Louville game Wednesday night, and I was not that impressed by the #5 team in the nation. UNLV lacks a inside game right now which is to bad. The runnin rebs have struggled rebounding as well, which was evident when they were getting out rebounded by Dixie State college early this month. BYU has an inside presence and can drain the 3. I thought UNLV had a shot against the Cardinals, and I know now the Cougs can and will beat Louisville, but they will have a hard time against NC.

i think the cougars have the talent to beat a team like this, i just wonder if they will be able to mentally stay in the game. I agree ^^ BYU usually struggles against high ranked teams. This game is not a slam dunk for Liousville though- the Cougs could run away with it.
U v Y football all that matters | 11:26 a.m. Nov. 23, 2007
The only thing that really matters this week in sports is at Lavell Edwards stadium tomorrow at noon.

Go Cougs! Smash the utes.
Yarite | 11:39 a.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Good Luck Cougs...but lets be realistic...it ain't happening..........
Wake up call | 11:42 a.m. Nov. 23, 2007
BYU will struggle with the Card's speed. The Y's not slow but ALL of Louisville can run, guards and bigs. Plaisted will also realize that being one handed doesn't work against bigs that are just as strong and athletic as he is. Right handed drop step Trent - PLEASE, just one time.

This will also be a good test for Coach Rose. We'll see how he handles Petino's aura and seemingly way with the refs.

The Y will play hard but this one goes to one's who can get to the front of the rim the most, and that's the Cards (by 12).
BYU Could Win By 50 | 12:11 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
...and jump to top ten in the country.

Ute fans would still be arguing next week how U of U is better team...

Tomorrow, BYU by 21.
Matt | 12:34 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
We'll pull it out. Go Cougs.
Midas | 1:24 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Just hoping for a close game. I love football and prefer it to anything else, but the football season will be over soon and what's a guy going to do? This young Y b-ball team shows a lot of potential. It may be asking too much to expect a win over national power Louisville, but what the heck we can still dream. It'll be fun to see how it all pans out. B-ball tonight the big one tomorrow. Life at it's best.
The Ville | 1:31 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
The Cards will not be denied, DC, E5, and AM will continue the quest.
Mr. BYU | 1:46 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Hey Mr. "Back to Reality", you have NO idea of what you are talking about! BYU can certainly hang with Louisville and could even possibly beat them. Louisville and other teams like them put their pants on the same way we do out here. If they beat BYU by more than 10 point I'll eat my hat!

Remember that rankings this early in the season don't mean much anyway until you have about 10 games under your belt.
Mr. Back to Reality | 2:28 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Majerus was the coach who couldn't beat Pitino.

You Utes keep confusing your weakness with the cougars.

(BTW Way to represent the MWC against Washington -- wasn't that your big football brag, Utah can represent the conference??? )

This weekend, BYU can Wrap up sole "Conference Football Champs", Vegas Bowl Bid, Beat Louisville and Pitino...

What's on your Utes calendar?
Oh, sure, your BYU Bowl...

and...

Picking out your red Sweatshirts with your white dickies mock turtlenecks underneath?
Back to Reality here | 3:25 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
All you Cougar believers get on line during the game vs. Louisville.

You are right that my Utes never made it past Pitino but they did make it to the final game. When was the last time the Cougars won a tournament game? Nobody from our conference will EVER get past Pitino. You are living in your dream bubble in happy valley if you think your hoop team has a gleamer of hope against Louisville. Not fast enough, not strong enough and dog gonnit', your coach isn't smart enough. The refs will give very little respect to Rose as they are intimidated by the "Rickster". Don't make excuses when you lose BIG. You're in the pitififul MWC.

Oh, when your Cougars win the football conference next week against San Diego, you'll be honored to play against a 6-6 California Golden Bears in that the fifth place teams (Arizona and UCLA) from the Pac 10 aren't bowl eligible (also played them) and the 7th place team (California)is the only one available. You also get to play in Las Vegas. All that hard work sure paid off. Your game tomorrow is the toughest game you play this year in this cupcake conference.

BYU will be there usual self and play a game like they did against UCLA last year. First half they will be tought and take a lead. 2nd half the gag will come and we will lose by 12. Love the Cougs but we just dont seem tough enough and our big men seem to be a little too nice to have a killer instinct.
gbthecoach | 9:06 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Man I am glad to eat crow. BYU did blow a lead and then came back. Proud of the team, win or loose we love you but of course winning is alot more fun. Injuries did help BYU get the win and they were closer to home then Loui, still one heck of a win. They have 4 tough games out of conf this season at least the worst they can do is 1-3....Gooo Cougs the win should put them in the top 25. If we can win the football game that is 2 top 25s again. Great to see the programs going in the right direction.
Getting Real | 9:18 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007

Well, us poor cougs are back to reality.

Three touchdown win tomorrow.
BYU WINS!!!!! | 9:26 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
My, my, my - It must be hard for so many people having to eat a little crow on Thanksgiving Weekend. BYU would have blown them out if there shooting would have been a little better than only 48%. Great win boys!!!
Man, Reality is weird | 9:59 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
It's, like, dude, got to watch a game live on KBYU, Beat #6, a Rick Pitino coached team, top 25 ranked footbal team against Utah at LES tomorrow with conference title in the bag and 2 games left against 2 weak teams to win conference outright...

It's sooooooooo real.....

Man, it's great to be a cougar fan...

One red birdie down... | 10:28 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Another one coming down tomorrow. For all the doubters out there BYU had a reality check and it passed with flying colors. BTW, I hear crow goes easier if you drink a lot of water. Go cougars!
Missing? | 10:36 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Where are all the people, BYU fans included, who said that we (BYU) would lose? What a great victory. I don't think Louisville deserves its ranking, but it was still a good win against a top ten team. It was especially nice to see the poise by young people in the crucial minutes.

Great win!
Correct call, Ute! | 11:27 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
"Back to Reality here" was exactly right on one point: Those refs were intimidated to DEATH by Pitino. After BYU held a foul advantage through the first half, Rickie chewed the zebras' ears all the way to the lockerroom, and was rewarded with an early 10-3 whistle advantage for his squad in the second half. That big dude in the middle could've ripped Trent's arm off at the shoulder and the refs would've kept silent. Makes me sick to see such blatant star treatment, but he still gets to play for the consolation prize. The officiating bias was the only thing I could've predicted with 100% certainty before the game ever started, so I'll call it for tomorrow: BYU is whistled for ten fouls in each half before UNC reaches 7.
Grateful at Thanksgiving. | 11:35 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Great teams. Great coaches. Great wins. Go Cougars. Great young men.
Ute fan | 11:48 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007
Great win BYU! Some will point out that Louisville was playing without two of their best players but with the talent Patino recruits they shouldn't use that as their excuse.

It's nice to see the Y doing well in basketball. Utah has carried the conference in the past so it's nice to see UNLV and BYU doing well. At 5-0 you should break into the top 25.

With Alford at New Mexico and Boylen at Utah, we should have four excellent programs in the future.

Hey "Reality Check", where are you hiding now? You're probably hiding under your spider man blanket checking your foot that is still in your mouth...
