The cross gets a reprieve
7 comments | Read story
Botton line, it is a sad day when we the tax payers have to pay to defend having memory to our law enforcement built just cause these God haters can't look the other way! I haven't even seen one of these signs so they must have to search real hard just to fine one to complain about. To bad they don't have a life without infringing on others life's.
Look at it this way. Your money and be taken but your soul can't.
The greatest blaspheme is putting god's name on money!
Back to crosses. Ever see a cross in a ward house? Not all Christians use the cross. Back to the predecessors of Christianity, the Jews. They use the Start of David, which to them symbolizes god.
To be blunt. Utahans are being selfish. At Arlington Jewish soldiers grave aren't adorned with crosses. America recognizes Jews by using the Star of David about the final resting places of Jewish soldiers.
This is too much to expect from Utah?
If you would only learn to respect that others consider their god to be holier than money.
Daisy, the reason we can't spell is our parents were not given the choice in education. Now we wallow in publik scools, learning how to spell when the clas is queiet. (Which is rare, as there are about 35 kids in class).
It has been suggested, by the plaintiffs, that a truly secular monument be used to honor the memory of these fallen Highway Patrol troopers. This should offend no one, however xtians are not satisfied. They have to force their superstitious beliefs onto everyone.
If the xtians must use xtian symbols then they should put them on private property and not on public property.
Kay you stated, "it is a sad day when we the tax payers have to pay to defend having memory to our law enforcement built". The reason anyone is paying court costs is because these people are refusing to put up secular monuments, the only ones that should be on state land. If you do not want any more court costs then demand the state replace the unconstitutional religious icons and replace them with truly secular ones. Demand that all future monuments on state land be secular.
