Alopecia IS A DISEASE. It is an autoimmune DISEASE. It is articles like this, where the DISEASE is referred to as a "condition" and people suffering are "otherwise healthy" that promotes the lack of research and safe, effective treatment of the DISEASE.
I know, because I have alopecia in its worst form - alopeica areata universalis.
And many many people with the DISEASE OF ALOPEICA develop other autoimmune DISEASES, some that lead to severe debilitation, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and even some cancers.
The next time you write an article about alopecia, do your homework instead of simply copying what all the "recent" articles about this DISEASE state, "recent" being more than 10 years old.
