Wonderful story! Miracles DO happen --- sometimes on a daily basis! So happy for Kaidence and her family.

This is truly a miracle in all of our lives. We lost a little girl years ago due to prematurity. She lived two years, but heart and lungs eventually failed her. To have this medical breakthrough is definitely a miracle. Good luck to your family in the recovery process. It is such good news when we get to hear such success stories.

Congratulations Steven and Shauntelle! Your family loves you and we are so happy that Kaidence will get better. We have been praying for you and your family. I pray that she continues to get better. I know that you still have a long road ahead, but this is a great start and really brings hope to other familys who's children may have this issue.

I would expect better from DN. Having been in health care as an RN for 35 years and on the product development side of health care for 24 years, this reporting is just typical 'feel good' reporting for PR work for Primary Chidren's. I am grateful that this dear family received the blessing. My critique is on DN for not reporting on the thousands of children that DO NOT get help. Everyone in this country needs to watch the recently released DVD; 'Sicko' to realize that every child should and can have these blessing, just not in America. I am a very active member of the LDS church and finally decided to listen to my heart instead of the news media and our corrupt political leaders when I started to see so many deserving people refused routine healthcare. It is time for universal healthcare coverage for all just like postal service, police, fire, library, etc. Do you really want to have competition in healthcare? Competition means someone loses. Do you want to be the one losing?

I am very happy this baby girl is doing well. The doctors at Primary Childrens saved my brothers life almost 18 years ago, and we are still thankful to them. I will keep this family in my thoughts.

Just a few months ago my neice who lives in Tucson,
Arizona had the same experience. There baby was born in April and had heart problems. She was the youngest baby to use the berlin heart. She was on the transplant list but experienced a total miracle. Her heart healed itself. Although she is not totally out of the woods she is a beautiful, bright happy baby and you would never know that she almost didn't make it. May God bless your family.

Have you ever wondered why these medical break throughs are not developed in countries with universal health care or in the real world -- socialized medicine? Do you really think if we have universal health care that everyone will have an equal place in the line? You look at "Sicko" as a documentary? No, it is fiction and not really good at that. I saw an advertisement on TV recently for the DVD that was touting it as "funny." So now MM is trying to sell it as a comedy? For all your years in the health industry can't you use your critical thinking skills to link how the free market (were it allowed to actually operate in the health care industry) could improve the system? Competition does not breed winners and losers on the customer end, but rather on the supplier end. Government breeds losers on both ends.

ROBERT DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN ANYTHING MICHAEL MOORE DOES? I HAVE LIVED IN COUNTRIES WITH UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE AND IT IS NOT ALL IT IS CRACKED UP TO BE.

I'm so happy the berlin heart was allowed to be used. So much good has come from that device from other families that were in desperate situations such as yourself. This is why organ donations needs more education to get more folks to sign up. God bless your family in this difficult time.

The Lord gives things to those that can afford it.

We have a baby we adopted that has spent a lot of time and had lots of operations in Children's hospital in Denver. We could not have done this had it not been for birth mom getting her on Medicaid. Do I believe in Government help ??????? you know it. I will vote for those who approve of these type programs from now till I die.

Concerned and MOM, the Berlin Device WAS developed in a country with Universal Healthcare - Germany. It is the US that is far behind other countries with Universal Health Care on the use of this particular device. Maybe you need to do a little more homework before making statements like this ?
