Pardon me for a negative response, but when you place this one action, where the
BLM actually did the right thing, against the backdrop of vast devastation that
the agency has allowed under the Bush Administration, well - I just don't see
sending them a bouquet yet. If it becomes a consistent trend, I'll start
celebrating.
Somehow the idea of record energy costs that hurt the poorest members of our
society seems to me to deserve higher priority than recreational activities like
hiking and hunting. Especially in view of the amount of mitigation and
restoration required in return for developing oil and gas wells. I have a hard
time accepting that the common good is enhanced by increasing the cost of living
for all.
I would like to invite anyone from this paper to see the oil and gas
developement south of Vernal. After seeing the destruction we will see if you
are so quick to pat the BLM on the back.
Sounds like good news forOPEC.
