Jimmy was impressed with Paul Milsap. Jimmy thinks he is a big teddy bear. Jimmy loves bears!

Wow, Williams is golden, I don't care how often he turns it over with that kind of performance. Just wow.

Sloan says, ""I tried to call timeout . . .(Just going) is not what we teach."

This contradicts what I've seen in 11 years of watching the Jazz. Sloan is famous for having them take the final, game deciding run and shot without a timeout, saying repeatedly that taking time out would just give the other team time to set up defensively. So when did Sloan change his approach on this?

Anyway, glad it worked out this time!

Paul Millsap is screaming for minutes. The guys gets 24 points, five rebounds and five steals in just 27 minutes. That's what I call production.

Something has got to be done about Jason Hart. The guy kills us when he's in the game.
D Will | 7:27 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
It makes you wonder what D Will could do in a system where he was given the green light like T MAC, KOBe, and Lebrawn. He could sprint down and get that lay up in traffic 10 or more times a game but in Utah you can only pass the ball in and set up Sloan's boring, 3-play offense.

Williams could be better than Iverson if he was on a different team.

Thanks to CB and DW for the final cut.

It was just like Danny Ainge.
Jimmy's Sneakers | 7:38 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
DWill's last second drive reminds Jimmy of John Stockton darting through several Bulls defenders with about 3.2 seconds and converting a layup under similar circumstances, many years ago.
Cooper | 7:42 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
The Jazz are scoring the most in the NBA, but can't stop anybody with a 2-guard. It is time to say goodbye to AK and get a legitimate 2-guard that can score and defend.
Grant layton | 8:15 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I thought it was a great hard fought game, you could not ask for a better game as a fan.
Advice to Almond if the refs are going to haze you by calling 2 cent fouls make them five dollar fouls, get you moneys worth.
James was Magic johnsonesk.

I think that Sloan doesn't know what he is talking about most of the time. He never calls time out at the end of the game. Paul Millsap should play point guard instead of Hart. It's just fun to watch him run up and down the court. He is soooo cute!!

AK and Milsap for Kobe and a #1 pick Then start sizing the rings!
Bulls game | 8:39 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I remember that Bulls game was an awesome back and forth game and with Stockton scoring at the end it was an amazing game to watch.

Last night was a little sloppier of a game, but still very entertaining. I'm glad to have D Will on the team and I love Milsap! What a great season for entertaining basketball we have ahead of us. GO JAZZ!!
Anonymous | 8:39 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
luckily last nights game was on espn. However I subscribed to dishnetwork and at first nbatv had several stations that would carry nba programing. Last night however they made those channels pay per view. Are the stations on dish that do nba games as a supplement of nbatv all pay per view now? It was nice to be able to watch any nba game that was on tv. Plus when a Jazz game was blacked out there were alternate sports programing that broadcast the games blacked out on the other channels.
RE: Cooper | 8:40 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
AK is not a 2-guard. Getting rid of him would get rid of our only legitamate shot blocker. And give it a little time. We have several young players that have the potential to be amazing at the 2-spot
RE: D Will | 8:43 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
"Williams could be better than Iverson if he was on a different team."

And what has Iverson done in his career besides score a lot of points on bad shooting percentages? Iverson has never won a championship, and has only had one or two seasons when his team was contending. I'll take D Will in this style of basketball over Allen Iverson any day.
el Josho | 8:47 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Josh agrees with Jimmy. That Bulls game was one of the few Jazz classics I was able to attend (8-point comeback in the last 40 seconds...before the league got 3-point happy). These Jazz are starting to remind me of those Jazz.
Backup Point Guards? | 8:46 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
There are high school point guards that could do what Jason Hart is doing. Get rid of him. Where is Dee Brown? Where is Mark Jackson? Where is John Starks? Where is Howard Eisley? Anybody.
Jater | 8:52 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Amazingly, I actually remember the Jazz-Bulls game that Jimmy is talking about. 3.2 seconds. Why don't we ever see any "NBA's Greatest Moments" replays of that one?
Hart Attack | 8:53 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Everyone knows that Hart is killing us, and thankfully, after three days off, D-Will can go for 45 minutes. But we play back to back on Friday and Saturday, and I don't see D-Will going for 45 minutes in those games. He needs a break. I am almost ready to say that AK runs the point for the last 5 minutes of the first quarter, and depending on how things are going in the third, give Price a shot. He can't be any worse that the "HART ATTACK" we are dealing with now.
What!!! | 9:18 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Jeff What are you smokin'??
CB | 9:27 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Thanks for a great game, couldn't go to sleep
my adrenaline was pumping so. Stayed up and finished my novel,'Spy', which was two great finishes in one evening.
JF | 9:31 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Bring Mark Eaton back to run the point!
point guard issues | 9:32 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
i was reading last night that earl boykins and keith mcloud are free agents who have yet to sign.does anybody out there believe they could help us at back up point guard? jason hart is really bad!!!!!!!!!!!!
What Sloan was saying... | 9:53 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
True, Sloan usually (or at least frequently) decides to just push the ball and go in those circumstances. But I believe what he's saying is that they haven't made the decision beforehand to have that as their automatic strategy. In the past, the point looks to Sloan and he often gives the sign to go, but it's still Sloan making the call.

I'm glad D-Will took it, and I don't think it's a big deal, but I would feel better about things had D-Will glanced at Sloan and had Sloan given the sign to go (instead of D-Will and Booz not looking and Sloan trying to call a timeout).
G | 9:56 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Why don't they run Brewer at the point instead of Hart? BRING BACK DEE....NOW!!!!!!
Hart is awful | 10:04 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
The back up point guard situation has got to be resolved. I have no problem with Williams playing 40 or more, but we need somebody who can at least manage the clock and the game better than that. Who cares if he can shoot. I can run a game better than Hart does.
Re: Anonymous | 10:14 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Dear Anonymous, the games you were getting are part of the NBA League Pass program that Dish Network offers, you pay a fee and get all of the NBA games. At the beginning of the season they do a one week free preview and that's what you were seeing. If you want to continue getting those games you have to pony up and pay for them. Otherwise, you have to watch the Jazz on KJZZ or FSN assuming you are in the area.
sparks24 | 10:36 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Getting rid of Dee Brown was a major mistake. Jason Hart is really really bad rigth now!!
Carter | 10:39 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
John Starks? Not exactly a point guard. Keith McLeod is currently available though. He'd probably be the best option. But good greif -- let's give Hart more than one week, shall we? I agree the offense suffers considerably with him though. Reminds me of the Jim Les, Delaney Rudd days.

That Bulls game was awesome; the Jazz were down 7 with 40 seconds left and won. It wasn't the triple-overtime game though; I think a few people here are referencing that one.
ujazzfanzz | 10:53 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I have an idea. After Hart gets his poor family back up to standards in his Caddy, lets send him and Price to Greece to buy out Dee's contract. Then maybe we would get a reliable back-up point guard that don't cry because his kid will have to duck when they are in the rental car. PLEASE get rid of the CANCER before it grows. BRING BACK DEE!!!!!!!!!! If Jerry can say I'm sorry to AK and make it work. Then Larry should be able to do the same with DEE.
TYLER | 11:12 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
To "cooper" Kirelinko isn't a 2 guard, He's a small forward and a decent defender and an outstanding blocker on defense. He also is one of the best passers in his position in the NBA. I'm sick of people whining about AK. His presense is very important to the Jazz, and by the way, all these 2 guards scoring a ton on us are doing the same thing to all the other teams.
2 questions | 11:39 a.m. Nov. 8, 2007
1-Does the Jazz brass (O'Connor) realize the desperate situation the Jazz are in concerning our back-up point guard position? I am betting they are just setting back thinking that this situation will take care of itself.

2-When Cleveland is down 3 with under 10 seconds to go, everyone from here to Cleveland knows who is going to take the last shot. In our infinite wisdom we play a soft man-to-man on Lebron and he hits the three. Last year same situation at Seattle. Everyone knew Ray Allen was going to take the last shot and we are playing man-to-man. They run him off a few screens, Memo and Booze stand motionless as Ray Allen wins the game.

Will someone please answer me this: Why are we taking away an Igalskus lay up and giving Lebron a 3??
3rd question | 12:46 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Why do we even guard ANYONE inside the three point line when we're up by 3? So they get a quick layup. So what. We were making our foul shots, weren't we? Stupid coaching.
Re: Re: Anonymous | 12:54 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I have NBA League Pass, I believe that it is worth every cent!! I love being able to watch teams like the Sixers, Celtics, Lakers, and Suns! I can watch every single game, and just flip through the rest of the games if say these arent playing, or the game is really boring!! I love League Pass and I would suggest anyone to get it!! The one game that I saw that only people in Boston saw was the game last sunday when Boston beat Toronto in OT!! Games like these make me LOVE League Pass!! Anonymous... GET LEAGUE PASS!!! You will not regret it!
No kidding | 1:02 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
This is the perfect offense for D will and it is showing this offense under sloan will make him better than John Stockton the greatest of all time ever was. Look at the number they are better than Stockton was in his first couple years. Let the D-thrill show begin
Enough about DEE | 1:13 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Dee Brown was fast. END OF STORY. I liked Dee also, but he never did anything to show the Jazz that he was worth keeping. He was fast and that was it. He caused turnovers, rarely hit a shot, and couldn't get the offense going. There are so many people out there who are in love with Dee who cannot see what he really was- a second rate basketball player who was really fast. I don't like Hart, but Dee isn't the answer either. Let it go people.
Stockton lives | 1:17 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
The answer is Stockton coming out of retirement folks!!!
ID Jazz | 1:23 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I agree that Hart is definately not producing but all I here is DEE, DEE, Dee, dee. He is so not the answer to the problem. His shot was not that great and he does not run the offense any better than Hart does. Two good games in the playoffs does not make him the man especially with Mcloud sitting out there who is a proven scorer and has shown he can operate the offense is a way better move than Dee.
backup point | 2:07 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Trade Hart and Price for Earl Boykins and bring Dee Brown back because we all like him and it doesn't really matter who the 3rd point guard is. Earl Boykins is very small and looks like a dwarf on the court. My wife only likes to watch games when he plays, so if we bring him to our beloved jazz, I wouldn't have to listen to my wife complain while I watch jazz games. Come on little Earl Boykins side show, come to Utah. Plus he is actually a great player.
Earl Boykins | 3:36 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Earl is a free agent. The Jazz just have to offer him a contract, but I think Keith Mcleod would be better because he already knows the jazz's system.
Moto X | 4:11 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
"2 questions",

Ronnie Brewer made LeBron take a tough shot--LeBron just made it--that is why he is LeBron. Any more pressure and Brewer would have been called for a foul (on a 3ptr--cardinal sin) and instead of a tie we could have been down one with his free throw. The team played pretty good defense but in case you had not noticed--most defenses have a problem with LeBron.

3rd question,

No we were not shooting a good FT% in the 4th quarter--the Jazz missed 5 of their final 13 FT's. That in large part is how Cleveland got back in the game. You can not give up an easy 2 when you are up by three and shooting 61% at the line. They instantly foul and we miss one and they score game is tied. You just make them take a difficult 3 which we did.

Not bad coaching--just bad comments by people unaware of the facts of the game. Sloans substitutions and different defenses allowed the Jazz to win a game when the big scorers were not carrying the usual load. Okur? D-Will? D-Will had 7 TO's in the first half? We won despite sub-par performances from usual stars.

Re: 2 Questions | 4:20 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
That wasn't a very soft man D on LeBron's last second shot. Brewer was right up in his face - any closer and they'd have to be sharing the same pair of gym shorts. Face it - LeBron made an incredible shot.
The problem was earlier when Ilgauskas got the rebound on the missed free throw, and that has happened a bunch of times in these first 5 games. Just because the Jazz concede the rebound when one of our players is shooting a free throw doesn't mean that other teams do the same, especially late in the game.
Finally, I'm pretty confident the Jazz brass are well aware of the backup 2-guard situation. Unfortunately there are things like contracts and collective bargaining agreements that restrict their ability to wave a magic wand and bring back Dee Brown or Earl Boykins or whoever else has been suggested here. Kevin O'Connor's not God, but he's no slouch either - he's a far better GM than I would be!
GO JAZZ !!!
Moto X | 4:23 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Unfortunately Keith McClank would be the best option. The problem is that nobody wants to come here for 8-9 minutes a night.

We all ought to be scared though--what if D-Will got injured? Then again history says that Hart would play better--at least he did last year for the Clips--had decent stats. He seems to be a player who has to log some minutes to get in a rhythm. Not good at spot minutes like Mansap was last year. Some players can do it and some can't. I hope he figures it out quick though--seems like Price out to get a shot at it before too long since Hart is struggling so much.
JF | 4:31 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Where is Olden Pollenise (how ever you spell his name) He could police our point guard situation.
CC Jazz | 5:48 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
For all those who were worried about wether Sloan was trying to call a time out or not: You have to realize that he cant come out and say "yeah in a close game we are going to call a time out". That play only works when it surprises the other team. If even team in the league knows that Sloan isn't going to call the timeout that play doesn't happen.

Also soft D on LeBron's last shot??? What are you smoking? That d by Brewer could not have been any better. Do you know anything about D??
Hart: You Have One Week | 6:07 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
One week to continue your audition, Hart. At that point, the Jazz need to put a want ad in the paper.

And everyone, stop your love affair with Brown. I agree 100% with those commenting that he was quick, and that is all. That was his only redeeming quality. It certainly wasn't his 32% shooting, or his 64% free throw percentage. Check his stats.

Also, has anyone else paid attention to Hart's jump shot? Good grief, it is awful. I have seen third graders hit prettier shots. If he starts hitting it, I'll shut right up. But until then, he is going to get an earful. After all, Brewer's jumper looks terrible, but it's not about appearances as much as hitting them. Now if it looks terrible and it's not falling, you're gonna hear it.

By the way, I am pleasantly surprised with Brew's accuracy with his jumper (ignoring the wide right three point attempt in this last game). Keep amazing me, Brewer.

TheHailstorm | 6:13 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I'd like Boykins , but O Connor already offered guartee money to no Heart and the price is right, Let Ronnie play 2nd fiddle for a while and see how he pans out. I think Hart smells up he place.
New York native and Jazz fan | 8:18 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
Paul Millsap may be one of the greatest second round draft picks in NBA history. As well as both Boozer and Lebron played last night, Millsap was the game-breaker. You can question the Jazz management on a lot of things but Millsap in the second round was an amazing pick up. GO JAZZ!!
Michael | 8:31 p.m. Nov. 8, 2007
I have our solution for Jason "Hart Attack" Look no further than Westminster College. Michael Stockton plays for them. That's right, little John Stockton JR.
