Fate of transportation uncertain in Weber

John Pitt and many others may be quite surprised in a year to find that traffic actually can go away when ever more scarce and expensive fuel passes out of the range of affordability for many more of us. There are special interests trying very hard to spend hundreds of millions of dollars of our money on new roads that are almost certain to never be needed. Google "Peak Oil"

I think waiting might be the best thing for Davis county anyway. With Commuter Rail coming online in the Spring, this will help clear up some of the congestion, as well as the southern portion of the Legacy Highway.

Once these projects come online, people might be surprised.

But now there will be a year for the Davis County Commissioners to state what the money would be used for. Instead of stating that it may be used for roads and transit, they should state that it will be used for an interchange, road widening in specific areas and transit. This way everyone will be able to make an informed vote.

The Davis County leadership should pass the tax increase anyway. All their neighbors have done so and having a big HOLE in the middle only hurts everyone.
A Legacy Highway that ends in Davis both from the south and from the north? That would be a useful road.
Utah county sat around for years before realizing all the damage they'd done by nor supporting transportation needs sooner rather than later.

Dear Davis County,

If you want better transportation options, you've got to pay for it. If you are not willing to pay for it, don't complain about sitting in traffic.

PS Thanks for the increased air pollution from traffic jams caused by inadequate transportation infrastructure.
