These people and their comrades are awesome.
Thank You
God Bless our veterans. We owe them all a debt that cannot be repaid. God help us to be worthy of their sacrifice.
Ora Mae Hyatt is my mother, and she certainly is awesome, in every sense of the word. I wish people also knew about my great father, who also served--but he's been so busy encouraging the recognition of my mother that he hasn't finished telling his own story of his time in India and along the Burma Road. There are lots of stories out there, and the time for getting them written down is dwindling away as that greatest generation leaves us.
As Sir Winston Churchill said. so many owe so much gratitude to so few who went way beyond the norm to perform such heroic and everyday deeds in service to this country. I will never forget their sacrifices. It was ordinary people doing extraordinary service. God Bless them all.
