Congrats to the Tongan people and this is a great example of what blessings can be yours because of obedience to the gospel and its principles. How I wish for that kind of obedience and blessings here in America! What we could learn from the Tongan people! WOW!!!

What Tonga really needs now is an economic solution not another temple. After all, majority of the rioters were church members, some were Bishpos.
LDS is funding their own person base in the Tongan Prime Minister's Office to conduct reconciliation or what ever and the outcomes - when that process be, will be determined by the church.

All we can do now is perhaps use the temple to pray for a miracles or plenty of it!!!!

In reply to "What Tonga really needs now is an economic solution not another temple..." We just returned yesterday from what we 'thought' would be a "fun in the sun" holiday. It was that, but more. I observed the humility and true joy of the Tongan people, which was not gained from temporal blessings as much as spiritual. The Tongan people are very close to God. Tonga does indeed need a temple - for to be able to attend the temple you must be a full tithe payer and there is no better solution to a budget than paying your tithes and being worthy to attend and serve in the Lord's House. Thank you Tonga, for strengthening my testimony and bringing me back to the reality of what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about!

The spirit we have experienced from this monumental event, the rededication of the Tonga Temple, was liken into the definition of the word, Integrity, which also means, the state of being whole. That is what we have been experiencing this past week end. I was one of those who participated in the choirs as a conductor for the cornerstone choir outside during the first session and also sing inside the celestial room with the second session of the rededication program. I was also suppose to sing with the choir at the cultural event on saturday night, but I joined my wife from the audience watching our daughter, Carolyn, participated on the field with the Tongan Dancers.
This is not a typical program which all of a sudden appearing on the television as it was live. We started practicing for almost six months ago and almost toward the past few weeks, we have been praying and fasting every week for some extra help because we knew we couldn't do it on our own. I am glad I was part of this great event.

Manolito hopefully is paying their tithing and reaping the blessings of living this wonderful law of sacrifice and obedience. God gives us everything to begin with. why not pay Him a little back. there is NO other way to have the windows of heaven opened and blessings literally poured out upon you. if EVERYONE paid their tithing, LDS and non-LDS alike, then your perceived economic problems would suddenly be lifted.

The blessings that come from temples are two-fold. Blessings for those in the temporal as well as those beyond. May we have a greater appreciation for what these beautiful temples represent. I do agree, let us rededicate ourselves...

I am surprised that a member of the First Presidency did not rededicate the temple, now that President Eyring is available.
Lote | 5:15 p.m. Nov. 7, 2007

The Tongan people are the warmest, kindest, most generous, and naturally spiritual people I have ever known. I lived there for four years as a teenager on a church mission with my parents. We travelled to many other lands, but I have never met any group of people that even compare to Tongans. I am so happy for these beautiful, deserving people. It is my goal to go through the Tongan Temple someday. God be with you 'til we meet again. 'Ofa atu.

June 22,1989 we were married in the Tonga Temple, what a blessings it has been to our family! We are blessed with 12 beautiful children and very humble to know that it started in this temple. Hope that others will reap the same blessings in this new temple of our Father in Heaven. I know that Tonga will benefit spiritually from this structure in their mist.

We just returned from a mission in Tonga in July, just a few months before the Temple was re-dedicated. It was very hard to leave. I love the Tongan people and have many dear friends there, including many teachers and students at Liahona High School. Tongans are such a great people with so much faith. They expect miracles and they receive them. Even the non-members feel that the Temple belongs to all of Tonga. If ever a country deserves a Temple, it is Tonga, and they are so blessed to have it open again. It was very hard on the people to have it closed for so many months, and now they feel a greater safety and strenth with the Temple open. I am so happy for all of Tonga. I pray that some day I can return to Tonga and see the beautiful Temple again, and maybe see some of my young friends sealed to their sweetheart there. You will always be a part of me.

IFEEL THAT I AM IN TONGA, WHEN I READ AND SAW MANY FAITHFUL MEMBERS AND THE PEOPLE OF TONGA WERE CELEBRATING THE REDEDICATION OF THE NUKUALOFA TONGA TEMPLE, I AM TRYING TO BE LIKE JESUS IF NOT AS LONG AS I SEE THE TEMPLE IN MY LIFE.

IT SO SWEET

What a beautiful sight it was to watch the Tongan Temple being rededicated. That was the temple I first went through before going on my mission. Being born and raised in the states, and then going out to Tonga makes you realize that all the material things we may have here accounts to nothing when we see the important things in life that we should be striving for. I could tell you though, it put things in a different light for my family and I after seeing the hard work and dedication that was put into it. "LET'S REDEDICATE OURSELVES"
