I think it's funny how after all this talk about vouchers, the wording of the "Official" state ballot doesn't even have the word voucher in it. It's called a Scholarship. So the fight for Vouchers by the leadership continues right to the ballot box when they can't even be honest with an explaination. Yes, public schools get to keep some money but for how long. It won't cost schools the first couple of years but after that, it will. Those already in private schools won't get a voucher immediately but how long will that last, five years, then they will get a voucher. Again, short term sounds good but long term sounds different. But this legislation shouldn't be about short term gains. I already voted against Referendum 1 because I'm concerned about the long term consequences.

At a meeting we were told that the word voucher would not appear on the ballot. Seems that "they" (politicos) chose the word 'scholarship' because that's what you give to people who need help financing schooling. Scholarships are good things, right? Sounds good. Let the double-speak begin.

Oh! the manipulation of feelings, words, everything. Our government owes us all, no matter where we stand on the issue, to a great big apology. And as voters we need to let them know next election, locked door deals, not supported by their constituents, is never acceptable. Join your chosen party. Help choose men and women with ethics who are willing to do the business of politics of the people, instead of the business of whatever gets them a kick-back.
