'Change' in Cuba crucial

But, because Castro is a lefty tyrant, nobody cares. Nobody want to know about the firing squads, torture chambers, racial discrimination; about 11 million slaves just 90 miles to the south.
Perhaps "God grew tired of us" ?
One good place to begin would be returning the Guantanamo base to the island and ending the many programs now in place aimed at starving Cuba into bring the Miami exiles back.
Cuba has lots of problems. Some of its own making, and many which are caused by U.S. efforts to overthrow the Cuban government. I Cuba were free to address its own problems, it would have to do so. In fact, lots of discussion and debate is now going on inside of Cuba. I know because I am visiting it and working hard here as a researcher and journalist.
Check out the over 70,000 items in the free CubaNews database a Yahoo news group, which features information on the island from a wide range of viewpoints. My father and his parents used to live in Cuba, which is how I got interested.
Thanks,
Walter Lippmann
The Republican Party line is doing business with totalitarian states like China and Vietnam encourages social and democratic reforms. They never seem to satisfactory to explain why Cuban is special anymore than Limbaugh as successfully sold me that smoking cigars is little more than a trashy habit.
More proof that conservatives really don't stand for anything. While contractors are stealing the public blind conservatives still can't get over Clinton being involved sexually with a woman.

As long as we keep a distant, angry and defensive posture, change will be difficult.
