Well it is not only the top sites that are making the sales, I think that there is a greater acceptance that artists who bother to create a website are generally honest to deal with. I am an artist and operate a site from New Zealand selling my 'NZ art for sale'around the world...Long live the net and good on Saachi.
Saatchi's traffic is deceptive. Sites with legitimate traffic never have India in the top three countries based on traffic unless the site is in India. I think Saatchi is using pay per click services based in India to boost traffic to the site. If people are selling on the site I've not seen anyone blog about it yet outside of artists who sold after winning a competition on the site. Seems bogus. There are better online venues. People report on Saatchi Online because of Saatchi. Nothing more.
