Lee Hamilton was a Democrat Senator so it's not surprising he is critising President Bush of his verbal threats against Iran. President Reagan threw words rather than missles at the Soviet Union and brought them down. He was advised not to use the Bring Down That Wall statement, but he was the President and did what was right. Lee Hamilton should not publicly critise the higher authority in our chosen land.

Yeah lets just go along with the dummy who got us into Iraq. We will be lucky if we survive these criminals time in office. It will certainly take years be it R or D to fix what this man has done to us. Blind obedience only goes so far. It is time to look at the mess you are defending. You cant trust this administration

Bush has made many errors in judgment in Iraq. That is not an anti-Bush statement, just a fact. He has even admitted it.

One could say that Bush has been too quick to call for military action, and heavy action at that. There are many tools that can be used, one of which is the military. And with the military, there are different levels.

While it is fun to take a poke at Lee Hamilton, who was a member of the House, not the Senate, it should be noted that the other half of that committee was James Baker; a staunch Republican who served admirably under President Reagan.

The focus is on Hamilton because he is talking. The difference with Baker is that he feels the same, though he may not be willing to come out openly and say anything beyond the report itself.

While that quality makes Baker a very loyal Republican, does it serve President Bush's best interest? Sometimes you need that close friend to tell you your zipper is down, bogger hanging out your nose. I worry that President Bush is surrounded by 'Yes-men' and gets very little critical thought.

We should at least listen to Hamilton.

This is typical retoric from him and those like him.
The fact is that we are facing a modern Hitler, who, if not dethroned, will sooner or later cause a world war anyway. If we act NOW we'll save millions of lives !

Art - The Iraq Study Group was a bipartisan effort - basically ignored by the administration. Lee Hamiltons' record of softball scrutiny of the Bush follies is hardly one of stellar success. It was just this week that the bill passing recommendations of the 9/11 commission recommendations was passed; not bad for more than five years work.
President Reagan threw more money than words at the Soviet Union to bring them down; so are we getting our money's worth for the trillions spent in Iraq?
