Interesting points about the suggested name change. Barry Dunham would surely be easier on the average American tongue.

However, if you really think about it, he can no more change his name at this time than his parentage, or the color of his skin. The fact is, those who would not vote for him because of his name are also unlikely going to vote for him because of the color of his skin. So, to what end should he start denying what he was born with?

On the other hand, the case can certainly be made that the sum of the man, including his parentage (nature) and life experiences (nurture) is what has made him arguably the most noteworthy candidate for POTUS this time around.

So, my vote would be "let the man change the country for the better and let himself be".

Stupid column. Are you seriously suggesting that he change his name? Are United States citizens so ignorant and racist that they can't separate Obama and Osama when voting? The column seems to make fun of those who have problems distinguishing between the two, but then actually suggests a name change. Why don't you stick to making fun of the neo-cons who manipulate our racist tendencies for political gain.

Haha, I LOVE this column! Keep up the satire, Mr Benson!

Obama is a nobody, with little to no credentials or experience whatsoever. Do we want such for the highest office in the land ?!

To John

Might as well go for two in a row!
