A critical shortage of both entry level and experienced engineers exists throughout the USA. As a recruiter for a Texas consulting firm, I struggle daily searching for qualified candidates primarily in the civil discipline, but the problem exists in all engineering disciplines. College civil engineering graduates can almost ask and receive salary and benefit packages that would have been unthinkable several years ago.
