I am shocked that all you people believe that Private schools are perfect. Hormones will be the same in private and Public schools. Give me a BREAK.

People who want vouchers are just too poor to afford it and want to say they have kids in a private school. Accept it and get involved with your kids school. Dont run away from the problem.

No parent should ever have to worry about a teacher making or accepting sexual advances. If found guilty, her teaching career is over. I really don't see the point of throwing her in jail if the boy was 18 at the time.

I don't care if he was 15, 17, or 18. The fact is, the law CORRECTLY protects those in a subservient position.

Doctors are not allowed to have sexual relations with their patients. Jailers are not allowed to have sex with inmates. TEACHERS are NOT allowed to have sex with their students.

If a person lacks the maturity, self-control, and good judgment to avoid these situations, he or she has no business teaching or being in other positions of trust and authority. At the very least, tell the kid to go enjoy his senior year and give you a call after graduation.

The teacher is charged with rape. Not forcible rape. Bear in mind that the legal definition of terms is often not the same as the dictionary definition and often varies from State to State. What California based writers put into the storyline of a fictional NYC prosecutors' office in "Law and Order" bears very little resemblance to Utah law in many cases.

It is time to drop the double standard. Teenage boys are usually LESS emotionally mature than girls of the same age. 17 year olds have no business having sex with teachers, period.

Of course 17-year-olds can consent to sex, a lot of them are having sex regularly. Now it's possible that the teacher abused her position, and if that's the case then she should be punished criminally, but basing a 17-year-old's consent on the _age of his partner_ is silly.

I just want you all to know that your comments do not help the victim at all. It is hurtful and none of you have any idea of how damaging you Comments are, as if you really cared. Your opinion doesn't matter so maybe you should keep it to yourself.

You know.......the 17-year-old child/victim/particiator is reading all of you comments and to be frank you are upsetting him, hurting him and its not right. So maybe you should stop!!!!!!

Honestly-that's the point! The child/victim/participator needs to hear all of this! They both made decisions that made it clear that they don't care what anyone else thinks, so this shouldn't matter! Crissy is a friend of mine and I love and support her forever, so I am biast, but he is just as responsible for his actions as anyone else is! LOVE YOU CRISSY!!!!!!!!!

Situations such as these are not completely black and white. There are gray areas, and unless you know all the circumstances and sides of the story, it isn't your place to comment about them! So stop saying rude things until there is evidence either way.

These situations are never black and white. There are always gray areas. Don't judge when you don't know what the craboli is going on! No one knows what the outcome of the trial will be, and until we know, no one should make ignorant comments about who did what to whom.
