Someone needs to challenge Mike Huckabee on his past preachings and current feelings about Mormonism. As a former baptist minister he certainly had and has opinions about Mormons and Mormon doctrine. The last thing we need is an anti-Mormon in the White House.
PJ, so what are 'his current feelings about Mormonism" ? That he doesn't agree with their doctrines? Do you believe that Mitt agrees with Christianity? Do we want a anti-Christianity person in the white house?
Yes - Mitt believes in Christianity... Not neccesarily the kind that you do. His Savior has the same body He told us/showed us He had in the New Testament. Does yours?
There is one Christianity. As Elder Holland has stated at conference, Mormonism is not Christianity. Based on that statement, Mitt Romney would not; should not believe in Christianity.
Yes, the Jesus in the Bible is the Jesus of Christianity. However, as Pres. Hinckley has stated, he does not believe in the Jesus of Christianity. He believes in the Jesus that was revealed by Joseph Smith. Which is not in the New Testament.
People have gone over this over and over again. Mormons do believe in Jesus of the New Testament and are Christian. They just don't believe in a creed that says the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one and the same person. The New Testament verifies the belief that they are three separate beings united in the same cause. There are many other people who believe the same, not just Mormons.
Any believer in the teachings of Jesus is a Christian. End of story. The rest is word play. If Romney was an Evangelical flavored Christian, the evangelicals would love him. It would be a true shame if their distaste for Mormonism trumped their support for conservative family values. That would be a tragedy.
