Build the road. Dont make the same mistake made with the Bangerter highway, make it a freeway. DO NOT TOLL IT until you toll Highland Drive and the Van Winkle Expressway. Whats good for the west side is good for the east.

No more freeways! I can't choke down Salt Lake's air as it is!

Build it! I'm sick of sitting in traffic every day.

2100 north best choice | 9:55 a.m. Oct. 18, 2007
Lehi has all the towns around them with the same problem as they conplain about Eagle mountain and Saratoga Springs. The people of Lehi fill everyone elses roads also. The Lehi Mayor did'nt want the freeway in south Lehi at 1500 south, thats the reason it was pushed to north Lehi. So north Lehi residents you can thank the Mayor Howard Johnson. Lehi City did not work at all with UDOT they worked against them all the way. Lehi has cost the tax payers plenty for all the building they have allowed in front of 1000 South Road and also the 2100 North. They should be made to eat the cost.

Build the road! I remember watching taxpayers lose millions of dollars as the Sierra Club battled the Legacy Highway in Davis County and workers were being payed to sit on their hands. What a waste and here we go again. The best route would have been 1500 South...If you are worried about polluting Utah Lake go take a swim in it. It can't get much worse. They should make a main route much further South. Traffic is rediculous and something needs to be done fast.
Down w/ Sierra Club!!! | 10:54 a.m. Oct. 18, 2007
If I ever see someone who belongs to the Sierra Club driving I am going to flip out. If you dont want more roads than quit driving so we dont need to expand the road system we currently have. Have you driven down Lehi main street before? A road is necessary. Quit wasting tax payers money on fighting this road...it will happen anyway at some point. It is easy to say dont build more roads if it doesn't effect you! Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain are some of the fastest growing communities in Utah.

Poor Lehi. Let's see, what shall we tell Murray City that got cut up by both I-15 and I-215? What shall we tell Salt Lake City that took it from I-15, I-80 and 700 East? Oh, and West Valley City got ripped by the Bangerter Highway. I see, Lehi should not sacrifice anything and just let all their traffic flow into other communities. Get a clue Lehi, you are part of a much bigger urban environment. Build the road!

Get her done! And that is all I have to say about that

My understanding is that the 4800 North option that Lehi has proposed is a pie-in-the-sky wish. I have also heard that Lehi City officials own property in the 2100 North area and want to develop it, not build a freeway. If Lehi politicians are using their political clout to protect their $$$ at the expense of a regional highway that serves the whole valley, then shame on them!

To the residents of Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs: You chose to build your homes far from freeways and are now complaining about transportation. Nice foresight.
*sigh* | 4:28 p.m. Oct. 18, 2007
Numerous studies have documented the link between living close to a freeway and poor lung function, even an increase in cancer. In California a proposed freeway was nixed because it came too close to one elementary school. The MVC runs right next to 3 elementary schools and through part of Hunter High School's field. Is anyone thinking about the lawsuits that will be brought against UDOT if they run with this plan? Why is this issue ignored in the environmental impact study?

Bulldoze all of Lehi. It's a blight on the landscape.

The proposed Lehi City Citizen's Alternative will move more traffic and cost less. Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs will be big winners under the Lehi plan. Just because UDOT endorses a particular altnernative does not make it the better option. Serious engineering has gone into the Lehi plan and the State has now earmarked funds to look at it. So don't pre-judge or be fooled by the rhetoric. Look seriously at the two options and you'll quickly see why Lehi's plan is best.

After reviewing both plans carefully., I've come to the conclusion that the Lehi plan makes more sense. Saratoga Springs will be able to get to I15 going both north and south much faster under the Lehi Plan.
The Lehi plan looks to the future of our children. Seriously look the negative impact the UDOT plan would have on our future.
Don't Build It! | 5:29 p.m. Oct. 18, 2007
Has anyone else noticed that nice inversion that hangs over the value all of winter and most of the summer? I can't wait until we can't see anything in the value due to the inversion. We don't need more highways, just better mass transit... and better drivers.

I see many misguided, misinformed comments. Lehi's Mayor Johnson wasn't the one to divert the 1500 South alternative route in Lehi, which, up until mid-February, was the preferred route of UDOT. Think bigger. And for those thinking communities don't want roads, you're misreading the argument. Most everyone agrees roads are needed as we all sit in our cars for longer periods each day. Foresight wasn't provided in the building of I-215, as more than 1/2 of the population of Salt Lake County now lives south of I-215. Roads shouldn't be built in a given place because it's the path of least resistence. To have effective transportation plans that are beneficial long-term, we need to assess where the traffic trends are coming and going. As a resident of Saratoga Springs, I support Lehi's proposal to build along 4800 North and encourage other Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, and Lehi residents to do the same.

COST spokesman David Klock said UDOT should explore all reasonable alternatives to the proposed route through Lehi.
