Layton may soon beat Ogden in population

When I was in High School they would not report the scores for our games because we were just a little farming community. I live out of state now and when I come home Layton does not feel like home unless I am in my parents yard. I think it is sad. With "big city" Layton has now all the problems of the city. I wish it would have stayed untouched and small. It was a wonderful place to be a child with hay fields to play in. We knew almost everyone in town. I would not like to raise a child there now. When I come home I feel unsafe as I see all the problems the city has acquired with its growth. I am not excited that it is growing. Oh, well......

I remember Layton being the small city that "Little Layton" described. It is really weird to go around and remember what used to fields and now see Walmart or other buildings in their place. Now I live in Logan as a college student. It's nice having the selection of shopping and eating, but I still liked the old days too. It's just funny being 27 and doing what my parents do.."I remember when that was..."

The article says "Salt Lake newspapers in the 19th and much of the 20th century gave Ogden an entire page of news, second only to Salt Lake." Now Ogden is barely represented at all by statewide news agencies, unless it involves crime.

I from small town Price and my husband is from busy Bountiful. When we were married we looked all over for the right setting to raise a family. Bountiful was expensive, Ogden homes needed so much work, then we found our Layton condo and we love it. We plan on moving up and buying a house here in Layton. We both love the community, and the business are only a few blocks away but we still have houses all around us. We both work in Ogden and it takes less than 30 minutes to get there in the morning. I don't think I could live anywhere else.
