Here is an idea, Let's look in to the separation of church and state. Let's look into how much of this mony comes from the LDS Church and it's followers. Of course that will not be looked into by anyone. Heres a great idea, stop spending your money on a politician that will never win a national election and start fixing the problems within the state. Oh that's right, when the church runs the state their isn't any problems. Keep trying Mitt, it will never happen.

YAWN.......... Here we go again with statements about the man who was brought in to 'save the Salt Lake winter games'. Is that the best that we can say about this guy?? I guess that he is as important as the person who lead the Sydney games, and the one now leading the China games....... whoever they are. Why doesnt anyone keep remembering why the Salt Lake games were in such a mess in the first place? Corruption on the Salt Lake Olympic board, as simple as that. Lets not give Mitt one more cent, he will not, can not win. The only winner here is his ego!!

You are a joker! What is your point. The LDS church is simply the religion of many prominent people in the state. That doesn't mean the church has any say in what happens. There is a strong influence of LDS people in the state, more than 75%. Last I checked the government is by the people for the people, so if they are LDS than their values and opinions are going to be reflected in politics. Do the math...than feel free to get lost.

As a disabled Vietnam Veteran and LDS Church member I am really pumped up about the chance to support a qualified member of the Church who is running for our country's highest office. Mitt Romney is a great businessman, was a great governor, and will make the best president this country could ever have. Has he changed his mind on certain topics? Of course he has. If a person has never changed his mind about anything, that person does not have an operating brain.

The money spent to allow Mr. Romney to get his conservative, patriotic message out is money well spent and I intend to send every dime that I can to help get this great American elected.

IF, and that's an "all caps" if, Romney makes it to the White House, those Mormons who helped put him there will rue the day they gave him one red cent and their vote.

Response to the so-called "Concerned Taxpayer": Just because the LDS Church dominates the state doesn't mean it "runs the state". If it ran the state, there'd be no liquor stores or bars. It would be a Mormon version of Saudi Arabia.

While I switched my support from Mitt Romney to Ron Paul a while back, Mitt Romney is still a competitive candidate and has every chance to secure the Republican nomination.

Whether you're anti-Mormon or not is personally irrelevant to me. But at least don't be so blatant about your Mormon-bashing. Pay at least some nominal lip service to intellectual honesty.

I could be wrong, but it looks like Mitt's campaign is fading. He seems like a good guy, but I'm not sure he'd be the best choice for president.

As an aside, I find the constant sniping at Massachusetts annoying. So they vote Democrat. This also the state that gave us the Mayflower and "the shot heard round the world." They led the fight in the Revolution and they sacrificed thousands of men keeping the Union together in the Civil War.

Objectively, Mitt appears to be among the more qualified of those seeking the Republican nomination. I hope he wins. In order to go all the way, others will want to see him as President of the US, not a Mormon president. The trick is that if people analyze his donors, they'd likely find a large portion of his funding is coming from those of his faith. I suspect this could become more of an issue going forward, which means more people could question his stance.

I thought separation of church and state meant something different. As far as I know individuals are still allowed to donate money to candidates as they choose. Individual members of any church have that right as citizens of the United States of America. In church meetings we are reminded that the church does not endorse any candidate but we are encouraged to get involved and vote. How nice to have a candidate that has values still. He has kept his marriage vows. I wonder how honorable of a leader someone can be if they cheat on the most important person in their life, their wife.

Ron Paul also came to Utah in mid September. I do believe he's worth a mention since Vegas gives him better odds at the presidency than Romney, and he walked away from here with a chunk of change himself. It looked like the article was covering all candidates who came here but has omitted Paul.

Then you better tell the Catholics in Massachusetts to stop re-electing the Kennedy's, because that is DEFINITELY a conflict between church and state.......get real.....Mormons, just like Catholics, Jews, Protestants, and anthists, can spend their money anyway and on anyone they want. If they want to give it to Mitt, win, lose, or draw, that is their choice. And if he doesn't win, that's okay too. He is a candidate just like all of the others.

You have to give the guy credit - he has (is?) a remarkable fund raising machine. If by some miracle he gets the nomination, and Clinton gets the Demo nod, he'll have my reluctant support. Until then, here's hoping common sense prevails and both parties nominate more qualified and principled candidates.

He has raised $44 million but his his own single biggest contributor, to the tune of $17.35 million out of his own pocket.

I would hardly call that being a remarkable fund raiser.

He is, however, a remarkable fundraiser in UTAH.

Mitt's my man...Where is a better qualified and experienced man in the line-up...There ain't one. THERE AIN'T ONE BETTER ON EITHER SIDE...Also I have to say that...Don't you think electing a woman for president is downside for dealing with countries that believe women are less than a man? We are not doing well now, but with a woman president we would be less advantageous in negotiations and otherwise. I love Condolissa, but I believe she too is less effective than a male would be.

When Ron Paul goes down in flames (ok, more of a damp sizzle - he has yet to catch fire anywhere), then who are his very loyal (if very few) supporters going to vote for? Every time I read one of these boards on any website, there's always a few Ron Paul comments. But there's not a chance in heck he's going to win. Is he going to do the third party thing? Great, all we need is another Perot wannabe - complete with a Democrat victory... sigh...

Politics! I have yet to see a candidate on either side that I absolute like. Right now I would give my money to Mitt if I had any. Fred Thompson was my favorite early on, but he waited too long to enter and seems like he's a dud after the debate.

Right now only 2 people have a real shot at the presidency Hillary and Rudy. The other 2 with an outside chance are Mitt and Obama. That's your race right there.

McCain will probably take Arizona, but is behind in all other states. Ron Paul is cool, but he's not presidential material. Fred's a dud. Obama is to green (inexperienced look for him in the future). All the other candidates just aren't getting national recognition.

It's amazing to me that people can be so judgemental as to the character of an American...one who would like to be President..one who has values, one who has integrity, a man who loves his family, loves God and one who is not perfect. Many of these comments are filled with hate, jealousy, pride and certainly not uplifting. If it is meant for Mitt Romney to be elected, it will happen..but whatever the outcome he has proven to be an honest, law abiding American. One who
loves his country, his family and friends and above all God. He is the caliber of man I would want to be President. My hat goes off to Mitt Romney for his courage and I hope he's given a change to prove himself. He is not running as a Mormon, he is running as an American who loves his country. Let's give him the benefit of a doubt.
