Inis and family, we love you and know Heaven is better off now. Inis, we remember your kindness, your smile, your testimony, and your loving dedication to Howard. Thank you for bringing us into your lives. It was a privilege working with the "better half" to help one of the greats. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

How wonderful it is that President and Sister Hunter are together again.

Very sad, the story's a little confusing.

I was reminded at how President Hunter took such great care and loved his wife, Inis so much. I was touched that when he passed away, the Church News article listed her children including them as his, without "step" in from of children. I also was so delighted to hear that here was a prophet, seer and revelator who chose a woman of great substance and even though a divorcee, it did not matter and it did MY heart good. They both seemed so devoted to each other and had a blissful five years together, and now have all eternity. What a love story. Bless them all.

Now President Hunter can no longer say she is too far away! Thanks for the tribute -- really a tribute to both President and Sister Hunter.

Richard and Nan Hunter was my mission Presiden (1996-1998 New Zealand Auckland Mission). Their love for the work and their dedication to the gospel says a lot about the kind of people they associated with in their lives which includes Siste Enis Egan Hunter.

Rest-in-Peace

I met her at the church office building when I worked there. She was a great lady. One tiny quibble with the article-there was no church office building for her to work at in 1968-the 28 story tower was completed was completed in 1972.
Mary H. | 5:54 p.m. Oct. 15, 2007
The church office building in 1968 and many years before was 47 E. South Temple. An excellent article about a regal lady.

The only picture I was able to save from my mission days in Samoa (1967-1968) is one with then Apostle Hunter, Sister Hunter, a Samoan paramount chief and church leader and myself as a Zone Leader for the island of Savai'i. Their visit was a surprise to us all, but their love, humility, and smiling faces was felt during our conversation. What a loving and caring couple. These tears are not of sadness but tears of happiness and gratefullness for the time spent with you both. Alofa atu ma ia manuia le malaga Sister Hunter.

This story has touched me deeply. and i have felt sumountable love for the savior to his beloved servants. such a daughter of heavenly origin understood clearly well the purpose we are here in mortality. Not to mention the least, president hunter loved this dear wife so affectionately to permit others to emulate such great example of pure love. we the enjoy the eternities are husband and wife humbly i pray.

I am happy that she is able to be with her husband once again. It is very inspiring to hear that, not just a prophet of God, married a divorcee; But, a prophet of God who has the image of Christ engraven in his. Divorcee is not an automatic, negative. However, could be a great sign of strength and growth, and willingness to put righteousness, God, first.

Now, President Howard and Sister Inis Hunter have received the eternal joyous reunion once again as together forever in "Heavenly place" which our Heavenly Father prepared for them. It's so really...really wonderful, beautiful, and successful life." TILL WE MEET AGAIN ".

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support for our family and the kind comments about our dear mother. We will miss her so much, but I know there is a wonderful reunion for her on the other side. She is with her dear husband and parents. She missed them so much!
For John K. You are right! Mother worked in the membership department for a few years before moving to the new church office building.

President Hunter was a great man. Although I do not know much about his late wife, I am sure he is happy to be with her and his first wife, united as an eternal family unit.

President Hunter was a great man and Im happy that Inis has finally rested from the sorrows of the world and return to his loving hands. To the loved ones that were left behind, the plan of salvation lives on. They are in a better place, embracing each other in heaven.

Why hasn't the Church officially acknowleded Sister Hunters passing on their website?
Kent Briggs | 3:29 p.m. Oct. 21, 2007

Inis Hunter was a neighbor who became a friend during the three years that I lived near her. She was a gracious and devoted member of the Church with a wonderful sense of humor, and although I was not active in the Church, her life and her testimony were a continuing source of awe and inspiration to me. It is comforting for me to know that in this life and in the next her heart's desires have been fulfilled.

I wish to echo the gratitude from Elayne for all the loving comments about her. She was a wonderful lady, a class act all the way. We were truly blessed to have her, and it warms my heart to read all the ways she touched so many in so many ways!
Thanks again.

Why does the church web site not list Enis as the wife of President Hunter, on the lds .org site?

I would think such a correction would not that that long, to correct and would show the same respect that others here mention.

If she were my grandma I would want her listed as his wife on the churches official web page.
