"That's it! I've got it" screamed the mad genius. "Let's hide our problem. Bwah ha ha, bwah ha ha ha!"
When did sweeping a problem under the rug ever produce positive long term results? Has anyone studied the potential impacts of pumping the earth full of a substance that allegedly disturbes the stability of our environment? Next thing you know, we will have massive fish kills from CO2 saturated water leaking into rivers, lakes and oceans.
Why don't we just ship it off to Mars? That seems just as reasonable.
Yeah, this really does sound like the beginning of a bad sci-fi/horror movie. Here come the CHUDs!
This just the latest form of "climate science", when I was in High School in the late 70s the threat was the coming "Ice Age". My how things have changed in a few years time. With scientist lining up for the government dole to "investigate" global warming or the next so called threat.
I don't think we're taking this far enough. What we need to do is build an enormous bladder to stretch over the top of all of the earths volcanoes that will trap all the gas and then pump it underneath our school play grounds. Then we can focus on building enormous vacuum cleaners that can suck all of the existing water vapor out of the air which, I've heard, saturates our atmospher more than all other green house gases combined. I realize that all of this will cost more than earths habitants can generate in a million lifetimes, but isn't it worth it if we can just decrease the mean temperature of the earth by 2 degrees? Just a thought.
Is this a joke? I can't even plug the heat leaks in my house and someone is going to plug the leaks in the earth's crust. This sounds like a real money maker for the companies involved. They would be able to pump CO2 in forever while it leaks out just as fast. If anyone is looking to a reasonable solution (if one is actually necessary) look to nuclear power which doesn't produce CO2, and has been proven safe. There have been zero harmful accidents in the last 50 years from U.S. commercial reactors. Three Mile Island harmed no one.
The guy wrote up the grant for this must be a great fiction writer. Maybe he helped algore write his movie.
Wow another nobel peace prize idea.
The day the fault sliped and killed the west. The thing CO2 does when it escapes in mass quanities.
How stupid can you get? We exhale CO2. Surely our tax dollars can go to better use somewhere else. I am tired of paying tax dollars that are used on stupid pet projects so that some nut scientist can get a grant.
