I find it interesting that Utah's media was once infuriated that the state's eocnomic development officials refused to release information about deals they were negotiating with clients. As a result of their complaints, we can now read about the details of a major economic development deal that may be in the works with Procter and Gamble. In the same article, you report that all the other states you contacted will share information about their offers to the same company. Doesn't this place Utah at a tremendous competitive disadvantage as they compete for a firm that would be a major new taxpayer and employer in our state? The media provides a valuable service, but sometimes their pursuit of their own self interests does not serve the people of the State of Utah well. This is one such instance.
